I’ve tried chareink and a few others but I like Bookerly at 6 with Bold at 1. How about you?

I use a Scribe but I love Amazon Ember bold 2 size 6, and it's also available on Kindle for Android.

Not a 2024 model, but I do have an 11th gen and a 10th gen and I've been playing around with Luciole and Merriweather.

On a PW5, I find ChareInk6SP looks quite good. With KF8 it does two things. It reduces the absurdly large default line height and it gives more characters per line at the font size chosen.
I do not like slab serif fonts which Bookerly is one of them. |

With ChareInk6SP for a Kindle, use NoWeight version. Inside the ZIP file is a directory called Hinted. Use that version as the Kindle prefers fonts to be hinted.

I do not have one. I use different fonts on different devices, and would use different fonts on different books on same device if that feature existed (apart from embedding fonts).
I have this idea that it helps with retention, and confers some cognitive flexibility for reading things in the wild, fixed layout books, non Amazon reading platforms, etc. And even if there are no measurable cognitive benefits, the notion of using only a favorite font is to me like eating the same food for every meal. It's boring and probably not very healthy. I like variety. |

It would take a lot more more than that to make it appealing to me; my main issue with KOReader is that it has far too many features. And the more streamlined KOReader that would appeal probably wouldn't have this feature! ![]() My only hope is that some study supports my theory about the cognitive benefits of font variety, goes viral and vendors scramble to add the feature. I do use monospaced fonts for computer text and specialty fonts where needed such as using the Fāng Zhèng Shū Sòng (FangSong for short) font for Chinese characters in Cixin Liu's The Three-body Problem series or an Enochian font for the golems' angelic language in Terry Pratchett's books but those uses are few and far between. |
