Couple tips on this one?

So when I ran this it asked for an Amazon oauth. I'm not sure how to find this. Is it somewhere in the Response Header or Request Header Cookie (and if so which parameter?)? Or do I have to ask Amazon for it? |

I must be doing something wrong; they just import as tpz, and if I try to open or convert them, Calibre just tells me it can't do anything with that format. I'll take a spin through the tools again and see what I might be able to do. So far only one has been a book I care about, so I just bought it again, downloaded the new version, and returned it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I have a vague memory about mid-2024 of getting a .tpz ebook. I think renaming it to .azw1 allowed me to use it with calibre.

As the documentation says, if you don't have an Amazon OAuth, just hit enter.

Hoped an Oauth would fix the problem. The browser launches and closes immediately.
Well, dang I couldn't track down an email or contact for the script writer. Alright, thank you! I think this error occurred due to Captcha. There's a manual version of the exact same program: https://github.com/WeLackDiscipline/...nual-login.zip Code:
raise exception_class(message, screen, stacktrace) selenium.common.exceptions.NoSuchElementException: Message: no such element: Unable to locate element: {"method":"css selector","selector":"#gw-sign-in-button > span > a"} (Session info: chrome=133.0.6943.98); For documentation on this error, please visit: https://www.selenium.dev/documentati...ment-exception Last edited by meghane_e; 02-17-2025 at 12:55 PM. |

I just found this. What will trigger this "you can no longer download your own books" warning?
My account has some kindle keyboard and gen 4 kindles on it. At the moment, I only have two functioning gen 4's, and am looking to get another one or 2 keyboards from ebay. (I got lucky; these last two gen 4's, while marked as used, look like they were completely untouched. Perfect screens, battery working fine.) |

It appears that the warning only shows up after you use D&T multiple times. For everyone else who isn't using D&T frequently, D&T will be removed silently on the 26th.

I still find it suspicious that this was announced with only two weeks notice and the termination date coincides with an upcoming product announcement by the Amazon hardware development team. Last edited by jhowell; 02-16-2025 at 08:24 PM. |

Isn't there a setting in Preferences in which you can choose what formats Calibre will accept based on your ereader brand? Topaz might not be ticked.

Just checked and a children's book that is nothing but images was downloaded by K4PC with 1472x1920 24 bit colour images while on a PW4, the images were 1109x1448 and in 8 bit B&W. This did drop the book file size from 32MB to 15MB. Last edited by DNSB; 02-16-2025 at 10:21 PM. Reason: Compared images in books downloaded via K4PC and imported from PW4 |

Remarkable isn't really meant as an ebook reader, but rather for taking notes. Someone did make a plugin for Remarkable support in Calibre though. Quote:
This is if you have Two Factor authentication. If you don't have 2FA setup, try hitting enter to go past it. The other option would be to go into Amazon and setup a 2FA app like Google Authenticator. |

An iPad/iPhone user, like Android (and I suppose Fire) can of course use almost any ebook retailer. I couldn't get Calibre to talk to a reMarkable. I could transfer in/out only by Web Browser. Since it's very like the idea of the Sony DPT (which is not sold as an ereader), the reMarkable is certainly really aimed at a niche market and not readers of novels.
