We finished the latest season of Homestead Rescue.
I'm still contemplating whether or not I'll continue with The Burning Girls, the first episode was just weird with the overacting. Tomorrow I'm going of vacation. I'm bringing my Chromecast and laptop with me (using my laptop as a hotspot) so I can stream. Netflix probably won't work, but I hope all the other services won't have IP restrictions. |

Tonight I was the first three episodes of The Pitt (all the episodes released so far). It's the "spiritual" sequel to ER. Noah Wyle and producer John Wells wanted to make an actual sequel to ER, with Wyle reprising his role of Dr. Carter again, but they couldn't get permission of Michael Crichton's estate. So they made The Pitt.
Like with 24 each episode is one of a 15 hour shift in the ER. I really like it so far, Wyle is very good. I saw that HBO also has all seasons of ER, which is very tempting. I can remember watching the first episode of that series (over 30 years ago, I'm feeling old). |

I binged ER last year - it holds up pretty well except for all the docs smoking on screen. It's really fun to spot early appearances by actors that later appeared in Grey's Anatomy, Law & Order, etc. episodes. |

I'm watching The Expanse on Amazon Prime Video I'm up to S05E04.
Last night I finished the 2nd season of Slow Horses on Apple TV. I'm looking forward to the new Star Trek Section 31 movie coming to Paramount+ on Friday (24th). Last edited by JSWolf; 01-21-2025 at 03:54 PM. |

Not looking forward to Section 31 at all. A massive Star Trek fan in my younger years, but really turned off it now. I liked Michelle Yeoh in Hidden Dragon Crouching Tiger and other foreign movies, but can't help but think she has grown to be a terrible actress. Just finished watching the second season of the Silo. Absolutely loved it. |

It looks like Teacup is cancelled. Which is a shame, since I did enjoy it and the story wasn't over. It's based on a book by Robert R. McCammon (Stinger), so I'll have to read that to see if I can get a satisfactory ending to the story.
Yesterday I started with The Long Shadow, telling the story about the Yorkshire Ripper. |

We watched the first season of Medici over the last couple of days.
And it wasn't my thing. First of the music is too loud compared to dialogue. There was also something strange going on with how it was filmed. The depth didn't work for me. Things were either in sharp focus or very blurry, nothing in between. Combined with the lighting it often looked like the actors were in front of a green screen. Which I found very distracting. Then most of the actors didn't even look remotely Italian (Dustin Hoffman, really?). Also, I don't think I've ever seen Richard Madden act in a role where he has to smile. Finally, the story just didn't interest me. So my sister will probably continue watching, but I won't. |

Just watched this critics review of Section 31 movie...
The tagline of the review... It's the kind of movie that retroactively makes me embarrassed for all of Star Trek... |

I'd be interested in your thoughts on the movie.
I don't normally watch reviews, but I've been so disappointed with all the Star Trek offerings in the last decade that I didn't want to watch something I was pretty sure I was going to dislike, especially with Michelle Yeoh's terrible portrayal of the character. Though, Star Trek Lower Decks was ok in a Futurama way. |

Plus, they've given us some great characters who you grow to care about over the course of the series, ones I hope don't just fade away once ST:LD ends which is, sadly, is Season Five. They've also added some good additions to Star Trek canon:
