Copying series link

I went to copy the series link to a book but the option was not there. Am I missing something?

Copy what link - the one you entered for a specific Series?

Would be good if they had the item name - Copy aaa link, Open aaa link.

ah, I see it now. The menu doesnt show up if you right-click directly the link.

Is there a way to make the icon bigger? I have trouble clicking it.

Right click the link icon - whatever it is, mine's an L in a red circle.

Not that I know of, except by making everything bigger.

If you open the detached Book details panel (press 'I'), then you can Tab to the icon, press the ☰ key and the menu will pop.

If you look carefully you should be able to see the frame around my Circle L (external_link) icon.

There's no way to give the attached BD panel keyboard focus. If there were, it would have to be similar to giving keyboard focus to the Tag browser, i.e. via a keyboard shortcut… so no gain over popping the detached BD.

I was able to make it slightly bigger more visible by removing some padding and scaling the inner arrow but I think you found something there.

I can't apply the override in resources, any changes either to external-link-for-dark-theme.png or external-link.png aren't reflected in the GUI.

edit: there is currently no way to make it bigger.

Oh, I just noticed the override does take only in the Tag browser but not in the Book Details panel.

Which begs the question, how was BR able to apply the override?

edit: I see now that the link icon is probably another one.

BR doesn't have any *-for-dark-theme.png's, his overrides are deliberately chosen to work in light and dark modes. And if a 'Show icons in context menus' checkbox existed he'd uncheck it.

I tend to prefer classic text menus and loathe the MS ribbon. But in Calibre, given the customisation possibility, I like iconic.

I just found why a custom resource image wouldn't override the link icon on my default Calibre installation, on Book Details panel. It would show only on the Tag Browser:

At a wild guess, I uninstalled JS and the override then took effect:

(it will be a pain to troubleshoot this, as I need JS)

I was able to narrow the issue down to this JS feature:

L05 Search Bar Dropdowns - Increase Visible Items and Search History

Once I disable it, the custom resource images do show on Book Details panel.
