This might be a contrarian view. Why not place this in the MobileRead Wiki; this way not just the creator can edit / maintain the info.

Forget B&N and forget Apple for eBooks.

B&N may or may not work for downloading eBooks and you need the Windows app. Plus, the app does not work on Windows 11.

As for Apple, there's no way to remove the DRM.

My first thought was the Wiki or a sticky in the General forum. I know diddlysquat about Kindles, DRM and all that… I just wanted to get it out of @odamizu's hair

Sounds like a me-issue, which is good news and probably solveable! So I'll take that particular issue up in another thread.

In your post about AZW3, you wrote that the files should be copied to a Kindle directory named documents/downloads/item01. This is not true, AFAIK. The directory should be just documents.

Also, the unlimited simultaneous usage tag only applies to some very specific cases - if you have no eink Kindle and are using a Mac. On Windows or with an eink Kindle books without this tag can be deDRMed perfectly well.

Apple books cannot be read on a Kindle, so no point in including them.

Google Play and Ebooks.com instructions are the same as for Kobo books.

Nook app works on my Windows 11 computer.

It should be added that B&N only sells in the US. All the others are international.

Google Play is Adobe DRM so the same as what you have for Kobo. When DRM-free, no ADE or DeACSM Plugin needed. Kobo books are also available from the Kobo Desktop app or Kobo ereaders and can be pulled into calibre with the Obok DeDRM plugin.

"Bonus: Amazon", should say books which are NOT Amazon-trapped.

The eBooks downloaded with the Kobo Desktop are not ePub. They are KePub. So don't use Kobo Desktop to get books.

I've just dowloaded a book from Kobo via web and got an acsm link which provides an epub.

But that's not desktop. Sorry
