I have a similar setup but the amp is a little Lepai model. Those Micca speakers are quite good for their price and size.

I have it wired up with nice soldered banana plugs, but I noticed that the right channel dropped 20 dB or so. I'd wiggle all the inputs and outputs and eventually (but not directly) the right would kick back in. Maybe I was prejudiced against the volume control but it hasn't happened since I bypassed it. Still, I get a lot of vibration here. |

I've two similar USB-C tablets from same maker. On supports charge and host mode, the other only only charges if not in host mode. Baffling. Also USB-C sometimes has an actual Analogue out mode. |

Contrast that with the 3.5mm Headphone Jack. Plug a set of Headphones into the jack and it always works (unless the Jack or the Headphone Cable is damaged/broken). The only compatibility issue is if the device has a remote control (some Headphone Connectors have a third ring used for an in-line remote control. The reason the 3.5mm Headphone Jack (and the 1/4 Inch Headphone Jack) are still in use is because they are simple and they work. Plus, the Headphones you plug in don't have to be powered unless they are noise cancelling. |

Not to mention that the same connector is used for USB-C and the multiple flavours of Thunderbolt.

USB 4 is supposed to make these problems disappear by unifying these standards. |

We already have power only cords and data/power cables. The issue is that in many cases you would have to tear the cable apart to find out just which one you have since there is no standard identification.
Let us not forget those cords that were hacked to broadcast the data passing through the connection. Lovely images of the extra chips and antennae hidden in the connectors. |
