Not happening for Python 2, just respin the package w/ KindleTool yourself.

An update of all the things will come when it's ready (probably no sooner than winter break, though). |

You should be using the coplate variant on a PW4 (or basically anything that isn't over 7 years old).

Package 'Update_KUALBooklet_v2.7.35_install.bin' (KUALBooklet v2.7.35 I) is not targeting your device while when I read this post and finally tried the "wrong" one, I finally got KUAL in my library. I haven't done any jailbreaking for kindle in donkey's years, and this is my first post as I registerd to reply here. If I have done anything wrong, please let me know. Also, I really appreiciate the dilligent work of NiLuJe ![]() Relevant log entry for this install: Spoiler:

I have jailbreak my kindle scribe with the WinterBreak way, and have successed to install the kual and MRPI.

However, when I want to install Python 2.7 & Python 3.9 in this post, I failed. I tried kindle-python-0.15.N-r18981.tar.xz andkindle-python-0.14.N-r18833.tar.xz. both failed in my scribe. So I hope the author would modify this hack for kindle scribe. |

Similarly getting stuck with the packaged python3 snapshot for my PW5 which was just jailbroken using winterbreak. I’ve taken a few additional attempts to get it to work, though still unable to compile.

To add the device type, I spun up an Ubuntu VM (as I couldn’t get the homebrewed kindletool to play nicely), installed the dependencies noted by NiLuJe on the kindletool repo and compiled the latest kindletool, then extracted the python3 snapshot, and created an ota2 bin with -kindle5 as the device type successfully. I've created a bunch of bins and have attempted to install each of them through the mrpackages folder. My most recent attempts still failed as the install.sh script within the bin wasn’t able to locate the included xzdec which I don’t understand, but I rewrote the line to use just tar Code:
tar -xvJf "python3.tar.xz" -C /mnt/us/ Unfortunately, the script then fails after extracting with the following error from the mrinstaller.log file: Code:
./install.sh: line 169: /mnt/us/python3/bin/python3.9: not found Anyone have any thoughts on what the correct command should be to compile python on a PW5 (and by the sounds of it, other newer kindles)? For context I have KOReader installed, but also trying to get MailPush setup which needs Python3 to work properly... so close! Attaching the logs if it helps. |

			Hello,

first of all, thank you for all your work! I followed the procedure on this site: https://kindlemodding.org/jailbreaki...ling-kual-mrpi The “winterbreak” and “Post jailbreak: Setting up a hotfix” parts went well. But for the part “Post jailbreak : installing KUAL/MRPI” at the line “5 Enter ;log mrpi into the search bar and click enter” I have an error at reboot see picture 1. I've tried troubleshooting and then restarting at step 5, but the same error. I went as far as installing KOreader but it doesn't launch. My kindle is a V10 in 5.17.1 Can you please help me?
