Elipsa Sync problems

Greetings,

I searched the forum about sync problems yet my case is a bit weird. All of a sudden my kobo elipsa started to stuck on syncing, have absolutely no idea what triggered that.

However, I have been insisting to sync it for the whole week and once in two or three days it is able to complete the sync - mostly the first time I connect to a new network.

When i sign out my kobo account all turns back to normal but all my highlights and annotations, as well as collections gets lost. Happened again a few months ago and it was so painful to do it, have no power to organize all collections and risk to lose highlights on pdf's especially.

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to solve this and any clue why it rarely syncs but mostly not?

Which firmware version are you using? When did you last update it (either manually or automatically)? Have you tried rolling back to an earlier version and seeing if that helps?

I use the latest firmware, 4.38.23171. The last successful update was manual, but let's say it is able to update only once in 100 try. Didn't try the earlier version but it started already after using the latest firmware for a few weeks or more.

I indeed use only one Kobo device, yet the sync also goes to endless loop and drains the battery if it doesn't update.

You could try checking your database with an SQL editor to see if it contains errors. If there are errors, that may be what causes syncing to last forever. You may not be able to fix the errors except by deleting the database and starting over, unless you have a backup from before the corruption occurred.

So there is nothing to sync with, except possibly any bought/subscription Kobo website content not already on your ereader.

Don't sync! It can be disabled. Also you can even set SideloadedMode=true in config and then the My Books is home page.
