Terminal program for PB622/623

Hi, recently the powerbutton of my Pocketbook touch hd3 has died. I tried all, but the button is dead.
Shutdown i can do by remapping home button or by using the sw menu. Turning on is now only possible by connecting it via usb.
Is there a way to use eg tje home button to power up the device?

That would really help my out to keep using my PB632

I do not know of a way to remap the buttons at the firmware level.

I think you'll either need to get the device repaired, or carry around the smallest powerbank you can find to jump-start the ereader!

Hi leomeyer, thanks for that version I bought an Era Colour I couldn't get PBTerm working. Your Allwinner B288 version is running fine on that machine. Nicely done!

I have recently received a Verse Pro Color on which pbterm didn't run. After some experimentation I could build a working version. The repository is here:

The reason for the crash (or rather, premature exit) was that the call to posix_openpt() failed with error 2 (ENOENT). I fixed it by falling back to using pipes as if the error code was EACCES for which a mechanism had already been implemented.

Not sure if this is common knowledge. I stumbled over it recently.
Actual 2025 Pocketbook firmware versions do have pipeterm install under :
/ebrmain/cramfs/bin/pipeterm.arm
(found it in 700c, 1040 but not in 740 firmware)
To use it, you could wrap your script like this

#!/bin/sh
(echo "bashscript started"
#put your code here
)| /ebrmain/cramfs/bin/pipeterm.arm  -n
exit

Btw.: Does anyone knew of a recent possibility to extract Pocketbook firmware on Windows machines?
