Why do you get a bootloop from editing a URL, anyway?

I was able to do this for the Nickelmenu link, but I'm not sure how to accomplish this with the others. I have to use a larger font for the UI due to my eyesight, so the words of the links are too close together.
I got my first Kobo reader yesterday, and the wasted space (both in the text, and in the button that's completely worthless to me because I don't have a pen) was bugging me too, so I implemented removing the NickelMenu button and removing/configuring existing buttons in NickelMenu. If you want to play around with it before the pull request gets merged/a release happens, you can download this build and mimic the configuration in the second pull request.

Would you please show a before/after photos? Also what would this release do for a Libra 2?

It'd be nice if there was a quicker highlight way, maybe in setting to disable the dialogue that comes after holding on a word, so it will only highlight. or maybe double tap and hold to highlight.

You can see an after image here: https://github.com/pgaskin/NickelMenu/pull/174
That example hides the Home and My Notebooks buttons, changes the text on My Book to just Books, and unhides the Activity button, which is secretly created but hidden by default.

I just got myself a Kobo Clara BW, but is there no patch yet for firmware 4.41.23145 or am I just that blind? I can't seem to find it.

You need to use the most recent patch (4.38.21908 I think), and change the version number in two lines near the top of the kobopatch.yaml file. Most patches will work, but a few might not.

That's not correct. The problem is that there are patches and offset fixes etc;. all over the place in the Kobo forum.

I did post patches for 4.378.23171 after some of the offsets were fixed. But the problem I think is that some of them won't work as is on the latest 4.41.x.

I'll grab a 4.41 firmware and try the patches from 4.38.23171 and see how it goes.

It depends on which patches someone uses. I checked, and it was the 4.38.21908 patch file that I applied to FW 4.41.23145. The two dozen patches I need work great on my BW except for "My 24 line spacing values".

I know other patches require different offsets, but I don't use any of them.

I tried the 4.38.21908, since I already used that on my Kobo Libra 2 and had already saved it. I changed the description in the 2 lines of the yaml file. There were some patches that didn't work, but I checked the log file and disabled those patched. I installed it on my Clara BW and it worked, so yay.

All the important (to me) patches worked, so this was a good workaround.

Thanks guys!

That's the wrong one to use. You need to use the 4.38.23171 patches and see which work. A number of patches have had their offset updated.

This thread is where I posted the patches.

Is it possible to change fonts in reading footer, I mean the box under the progress bar with the title of the book in reading mode?

In nickel.yaml, there is a patch that may allow you to change the footer font. The patch is Custom header/footer captions:
