Yeah for cheap Hulu! New email address and it's back. I use it almost daily. I even went for the Disney+ again although I didn't use it as much as I thought last year. Oh well, $3 a month is worth it.

So far, I've already picked up a new Chromebook. In the next few days, I'll be getting a new microwave and cellphone. That should tide me over for several more years.
I'd also suggest people stock up on everything they can to help cushion the blow from prices going up. Something a lot of people don't understand is that the tariffs will cause the price of everything to go up, even stuff that's not directly hit by them. Companies will jack up their prices, pretend it's due to the tariffs/inflation and rake in record profits. That's what happened last time as well as during the inflation caused by the pandemic.

I went ahead and got a new dryer yesterday from a local place. Price on their cheapest one on sale was same as Black Friday deals elsewhere. Been without a dryer most of the year, was waiting until BF in hopes of them getting cheaper. Didn't get as cheap as I wanted, but I grabbed one now anyway.

I just picked up the one thing I almost always get as part of the Black Friday season, which is an unlimited device McAfee subscription. Which is only $5 more than their 5-device subscription, and for which we cover our several computers, our son and DIL's computers, and my dad's computers, and come out pretty nicely. And although these are almost never full price, this is almost always a better price on Amazon than on McAfee's own website.

There are a couple of flavors, with more or less extras added-on, but the one I got was pretty basic, McAfee Total Protection Unlimited Devices 2025 for $24.99: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BFRVMMN

And similar deals exist on other brands, like Norton, we just got started on McAfee years ago...

Black Friday Sales
Quote:
Of the 10 stores being tracked, 6 of them started their sales earlier this week. Costco, Office Depot, Sam's Club, and Staples are just now starting their official sales.

Additionally, new items are being added to the sales of the other 6 stores, some of which are online and today only. So be sure and check out all of the sales to see if there's anything else you may want.

Keep in mind that Cyber Monday sales usually see price hikes compared to Black Friday sales.

The stores and their sales are linked in post #2 along with each store's details.

As midnight approaches, I notice that I have not come across any sales that begin midnight Friday, like there used to be.

Seems like Amazon just rolled all the same deals from "Black Friday" to "Cyber Monday" same as last year.

At least, I am not seeing anything obvious that is new.

Yeah, I'm seeing the same thing. At least they kept the Black Friday pricing intact. In years past, Amazon would raise the prices of their tech devices $5~$10 for Cyber Monday.

For anyone wanting/needing a cheap Android phone as a music player I found the Moto G Play (2024) 64GB on Best Buy for just $29.99. It's from Boost Mobile, which I haven't dealt with before, but I expect it'll be similar to TracFone phones and easy enough to just use on WIFI only. As a bonus, at checkout I was able to get free shipping simply for logging in with my free My Best Buy account, even though it's below $35. (Maybe they count tax?)

I bought my Moto E6 four years ago and have replaced the battery once already. I figured for $30 it was worth grabbing this to replace it. It being the 64GB model, so I don't need to add a micro SD card was icing on the cake.

For Cyber Monday, Best Buy thought it would be a great idea to raise the price of this phone to $39.99. Aren't they kind

All Best Buy memberships (including the free one) offer free shipping with no minimum purchase. I wish other stores would do the same for their free memberships.

My Moto E6 is also the same age and I still have the original battery. I'm actually using it as a phone via Tracfone and I will be getting the Moto G Play 2024 to replace it.

I was hoping the Tracfone version would drop in price during these sales, but no such luck. It's still $49.99, so it looks like I'll be paying full price for it. Even so, it'll still be cheaper than the Boost Mobile version after a few months. Boost's cheapest plan is $10/mo more than what I'm currently paying Tracfone. So if I switched plans, I'd be losing money after two months.

I've been quite happy with the Moto phones I've purchased over the years. Jumping from the Moto E6 to the Moto G Play 2024 will be quite noticeable. There'll be a huge improvement on the specs, but with two major cons for me: the battery is non-removable and the phone is larger (6.5 inch display). I long for the days of the 4 inch displays, but that's another story.

Let us know how it works out for you.

Somehow it's not surprising, seems stores are trying to rip people off with their Cyber Monday "sales" this year.

My original battery swelled up on me and I'm not sure that replacement's really a genuine Samsung battery. It's damn near impossible to find legit ones nowadays. At least I was able to get a good quality one for my Galaxy S8 from iFixit. Normally I wouldn't try a battery replacement on a sealed phone like that, but I think I can manage it since the battery swelling up popped the case open for me. Kind of it to do that. Now I just need to actually get around to doing it...

For my music player I don't want it to have cellular service. I keep it disconnected from Wi-Fi most of the time so my Spotify random play on it and on my desktop can be separate from each other. I try to remember to turn on Wi-Fi overnight every other week or so to let it redownload anything that's expired. And I agree on the non-replaceable battery. Not thrilled about that.
