Let's try that directory listing again.
First thing to do is to open a Windows command prompt. That should just display a C: prompt Now assuming that your Kobo is mounted on drive E just type Code:
dir e: /s /a > dir.txt The /s says all directories and the /a says all files including any with the hidden attribute Sent from my Pixel 7a using Tapatalk |

What happens if you create a directory called books in the root of the exposed drive and this eBook there? I have this directory and that's where my eBooks go on my Libra 2.

Correct. Their will NOT be a file created on the Kobo; it will be created in whatever directory you are in in the C drive. If you insist on putting that file in the Kobo the command would be
Code:
dir f: /s /a > f:dir.txt |

Personally, I would recommend creating a directory in the root of the exposed storage and copying your ebooks into that directory. The root directory of a FAT32 volume has a limited number of available directory entries and long file names chew them up rapidly.
A couple of other item is that you have .sqlite-shm and .sqlite-wal (SQLite shared memory and write ahead logging) files in your .kobo directory. Basically, those are an indication that the SQLite files were not properly closed before your Kobo was connected to the computer. If you connected from within KOReader, that indicates that the databases were not closed before you ran KOReader. If you are using the KoboTouch driver, this should trigger a database corruption message when you connect to calibre. Secondly, your metadata.calibre file shows a file date of 2024-Sep-16 which suggests that calibre has not been used in months. One advantage to using calibre is that you can clean up your metadata so you aren't guessing what the title and author names are for a file called 9b2742ca-30ec-43a1-b76e-68df27a65f82-epub-b68c8973-a363-4ec8-a82e-ae3f90346e85.epub |

I also wonder if there might be a corrupted epub ob the device that is causing the addibg to the database to fail.
I also saw AIRPLANEMODE=TRUE in the conf file; I'm not sure what that signigies. |

The firmware you are using has the bug of not always closing the SQLite files. You really should update to the latest version after you do a log out and log in of your Forma. That bug was fixed in the firmware after the one you are running. Last edited by JSWolf; 11-24-2024 at 07:47 AM. |

Gentlemen, I appreciate all the assistance.
I just now hooked up my Forma with Calibre, then exited Calibre and unplugged my Forma. I turned my Forma ON and it imported content and the missing book is now on my Forma and usable. Also, my Forma is now running 4.38.23171. First glance indicates my Forma might be "whole" again but I'll do some more using and checking. If (IF?) it is now "whole", any explanations as to what has transpired? |
