Red face Transfer books from Calibre to Kobo

Hi to All,
I'm having some problems using a USB cable to connect my Kobo Glo to my Mac so I want to use Wifi to send books from Calibre on my Mac to the Kobo. I connected the content server and was able to display part of my Calibre library on the screen of the Kobo.
However I was unable to transfer any books to the Kobo. I thought that by pressing or tapping on the book image on the Kobo screen that it would download but when I did that nothing happened, despite repeated attemps.

I would appreciate any advice on this or alternative suggestions for getting books from Calibre to the Kobo on Wifi. I only want to send a couple of books not a whole library.
Thanks in advance!

While not a direct reply to your question, you could try this:

Thank you, Sirtel, this looks extremely useful but I need more information on this method. Can you point me to a how to use page?

You go to the web page on both your computer and your Kobo. On the Kobo it will display a 4 character code. Enter that code on your computer and select what content you want to send and bingo... It's name will appear in the Kobo. Just click on that name on the Kobo and the file will download

Thanks for this advice. I did not see any download button on the screen of the Kobo! But I have discovered that if I press the format of the book, the EPUB logo, this opens the download window. So I have managed to get the two books onto my Kobo at last!

Thanks once more for your good advice, PeterT !!

I managed to get the books using Calibre, though it took me quite an effort, particularly as the Kobo refused to display the page when I used a password on the Calibre access. I had to remove the password to get access to the download. But I managed to do it.

Sirtel's method that you have explained seem simpler!

The mobile version of the calibre server might be easier to use in this case. It has a button for each available format for a book. To try it, add "/mobile" to the end of the URL you use to access your server as in http://127.0.0.1:8080/mobile

Thanks for this Chaley. I have managed, one way and another to send all the ebooks I need to the Kobo, but I have copied your advice for future use!
And I hope other users will find your recommendations here on line!
