I always get my regular glasses and my computer glasses in different frames with temples that I can distinguish by touch so I can touch the side of my head to remind me which I have on. It's reduced the times I've walked away with the wrong pair on...slightly. |

For me it's simple: I only have one prescription for everything, and I wear them always, except when I sleep.

I am very confused that I just received an emergency alert on my phone that a missing person has been located. Good and all, but I never got an emergency alert about him being missing in the first place.
At least they aren't sending alerts provincewide about a person barricading themselves in their apartment (that happened once). |

But that hasn't been a problem so far. As soon as I stand up and take few steps with my computer glasses on, I get a little queasy. |

Mine are from Costco, and they have a little distance area and little reading area, so they are very functional for when I screw up, but I wouldn't want to watch the living room TV or drive for any length of time with them. Costco is the only affordable place I've found that makes computer glasses like these. Speaking of working in front of a computer, I'm still looking for a full time gig, so if any of you are hiring any IT types: have glasses, will travel. ![]() |

Christmas music in the local supermarket and it's still not the end of November.

I wish: I miss hearing Christmas carols, i.e., the religiously-tinged ones. I get why the lyrics might be inappropriate, but couldn't they just play the music? There must be orchestral versions out there. Not nearly so raucous, jangly, irritating. A mix would be ideal. And then you might not hear the same few songs all the freaking time, too. |

Personally, I don't like music stuffed in my face. Actually, I don't even like listening to music. Unless I'm playing (guitar) and singing. Even then I try to avoid listening. |

One of the localish radio stations (which I thankfully don't listen to) has already flipped to 100% Christmas music.

Around here, the first station to switch to 100% Christmas music tends to be an indicator that the station is shutting down shortly. Though I admit that one year, I found it rather amusing when a station got upset with their last DJ. Their last half hour on air consisted 3 repeats of the The End by the Doors before their transmitter was shut down at midnight.

Our "All Christmas" radio station used to begin on Black Friday, then on Thanksgiving Day, and this year -- the day after Halloween. It's a little unsettling to hear Mariah Carey whilst munching tiny candy bars.

CIOO-FM is one of the stations that Bell didn't sell off, but they have had a few format flips in recent years according to wikipedia.
I wonder whatever happened to that B.C. station that was spamming "Killing in the Name"— I just googled it and all I found was articles from the time it was happening. |

At the time, they were KISS FM and are now Roger's owned SONiC FM. While playing that song for 24 hours may have annoyed some people, there is actually nothing against doing so in the CRTC regulations.
