Ok. Thanks. I think my Fire tablet warns me at 15%, and I usually plugnit in them, but few times, I have plugged it in at 40-50%. I don't unplug it until I use it though. Quote:
Too bad the devices don't all have the workarounds. |

It shouldn't with properly designed gear, almost everything in last 15 to 20 years. The Li-Poly would go on fire if the internal charging circuit didn't disconnect it when full charge is reached (based on voltage and temperature).

But the idea of what was a safe maximum long term state of charge from a battery lifetime perspective was different 15 to 20 years ago.

I wasn't meaning over-charging or over-voltage, but holding charge at the top ~5% for a long while. I've seen many devices live a long time with good batteries that actually make use to their battery regularly, if not daily. The ones that live on a charger almost always have batteries that degrade or die.

I know I'm way late but in case any one else reads this thread. The problem with the Elipsa 2E official Kobo cover not having a stand (or protecting the back of the device) is something I overcame by buying a 3rd party cover on Amazon.
It fits perfectly, has a slot for the stylus, has a sleep/wake function, has an origami style stand, & is the closest thing I could find to the official case sold for the old Elipsa,(which I consider to be superior to the case sold for the 2E). It is also 50 quid cheaper https://www.amazon.co.uk/Billionn-Ko.../dp/B0C5961RNX Last edited by emmabee; 12-02-2024 at 01:14 PM. Reason: illiteracy |
