Actually it is 5.18.0.1.0.1 (4336600001) on mine (I left out a '.0'). So we apparently have different firmware.

Your experience gives me hope that a firmware adjustment may fix the yellow band issue.

Why is it Amazon US will ship a Colorsoft in a few days yet Amazon UK will take a few months.

It's interesting that there may be another firmware out there. At this point, however, I'm skeptical that is going to solve the color issue (but we can hope!). As near as I can tell, this issue affects all devices. Some people just don't see it; you have to know what to look for (it helps to turn it upside down).

If I think about it, I don't understand how Amazon is going to get new hardware in people's hands by the end of the month. They're going to get this fixed, tested, manufactured, sent over from China, and to customers, by then?

If this is a hardware issue, why is Amazon still selling the Colorsoft in the US? They have a 4-5 month wait in the UK.

Uh, because they're prioritizing their US customers? Or, they're using Americans as their beta testers for the next run? Or both, of course.

I've said this for a long time and Amazon is still proving it true.

Amazon treats customers outside of the US as 2nd class citizens.

Now it's even worse as Amazon are treating UK customers are 3rd class citizens.

It's a business, not a moral cause. There are going to be shortages near- and intermediate-term as they retool and start over again. There have to be judgments made about where to supply them first and obviously Amazon thinks getting them out in the US first is their best strategy. They wouldn't be giving up Christmas sales in the UK altogether if it couldn't be helped.

Without knowing anything at all about the numbers, I get that it's probably better to meet immediate demand fully in particular markets rather than have slow shipments everywhere. I.e., they want the US Christmas sales.
