I'm just keeping Wi-Fi off and sticking with 4.35. I've yet to see any reason to update, and having to sideload the good dictionary in order to keep using it makes me want to avoid updates permanently.

If you look around the List of Official Kobo Dictionaries (v3) thread, in message #35 there is a link to the 2019 dictionary file.

There is no need to rename the file since you are placing it in the custom-dict directory.

One item to realize is that the Libra Colour, Clara Colour and Clara BW firmware 4.41.23145 has four more fonts that the older devices' firmware 4.38.23171. Both the attached images are the contents of ./usr/local/Trolltech/QtEmbedded-4.6.2-arm/lib/fonts/ directory in the firmware files.

I misunderstood what I quoted "I really doubt updating the UI with the new font..." to mean there would be a new UI font, like on the box. I like the look and while it's not worth it to me to patch it, I would like Kobo to roll it out.

Firmware release notes list (for KLC): wake-up from sleeping mode by clicking on page button.

I just tried, and it works. Finally, I can turn on screenshots without having to ask myself why the power button doesn't work anymore to wake up my device

That would be a nice feature for the Libra 2. I occasionally hit the page turn button when it's sleeping and wonder why it doesn't wake up.

Is there some technical reason they haven't implemented this for the Libra 2?

This post mentions formatting has been removed from the 2024 version (removal of bolds of italics). If wonder if there are of such layout downgrades compared to 2019
