I'll do it tonight or tomorrow (depending on when I reach home). And the version which I was referred to in github worked for connecting and borrowing (not downloading, of course).

It looks like it did not take me long to break things, namely Orion Buske's fix to regenerate a token. (Sorry!) That code only runs when the old token expires and it looks like that never happened to me during my testing. It is strange because I had tried using a new setup code before I made this particular change and it failed and worked after the change so and I assumed my change was required. But I've reverted the change and setup from scratch again and this time it worked. More importantly it means an expired token can be refreshed. Should be fixed in the next version (Currently here and hopefully pushed out to users soon) |

0.2.2 seems to be working, although I guess I won't know for sure until the token expires and has to be regenerated.

The plugin hasn't been working for me for the past few hours, but neither is libbyapp.com.
EDIT: and an hour later it's all working again. Last edited by foosion; 11-24-2024 at 08:38 PM. |

The plugin is working fine for me now with this version.
I currently have 3 library cards in Libby and they show in the plugin tab. Is there a way to add library cards using the plugin? If not, I will have to do so at the web page. Dave |

hi, is there a user guide somewhere online on how to use/troubleshoot this plugin? i've installed it and I don't get a "download" button like in the screenshot on this thread. I get "create empty entry in calibre," and "open in libbyapp.com." neither option imports the magazine into calibre. the closest it does is the create empty entry in calibre option gives me the magazine cover and the metadata, but no magazine. i saw someone else had this problem and there was a reply that magazines with a lot of images and photos might be causing this problem, so i then borrowed an ebook that was just text and i had the same problem with only the empty entry and libbyapp options and the empty entry in calibre also only imported the book cover and the metadata only, so i must be missing something on how to get a PDF from a magazine I've borrowed.

There is no longer a download option. You have to select the "open in libbyapp.com" and download the ACSM file through it.
Also, magazines are no longer supported. |

how are people converting the magazines from libby to PDF? i travel a lot for work and many times i'm out of range of wifi, so i want to convert to pdf for those occasions. when i google search, i see websites with the pdf magazines available through file sharing websites. I don't like these sites because maybe they have viruses and to get to download the pdf there is a wait time, then a captcha and then a very-very slow download (like, 100kb/sec). so there must be a way to convert the libby magazines to pdf because i see them on these file sharing websites, how is it done? is there another different calibre plugin or another forum with directions that someone can direct me to?

I download a magazine via Overdrive and the only way to read it is via your web browser.
Given it's image based, my guess is the images are being downloaded and a PDF made from the images. (IMHO) it's not worth the time/effort to do this. |
