Does anybody know why Cool Reader insists of having a new page on alignment change?

I use Cool Reader for proof reading of my work as a translator. I know it's discontinued, which is why I'm not sending this to the creator.

I have one thing that bugs me, after I have had to convert to a new way of working (software changes in my company): If there's a document (I import RFT's) which has a change in alignment, so there is a centered line in the middle of a left aligned document, CR always adds a page break ahead of that paragraph. Does anybody know why, and maybe how I can avoid that? When there are more than one centered lines bookended by left aligned lines I get the annoying effect that there is one line on each page.

i use cool reader too. where did you see it has been discontinued? not sure why it does the above. is it the same in calibre viewer after you have converted it ?

Thanks for answering! I assumed that development had ceased, since the last version was in 2021. I know it's still on Play Store, though.

I have not used Calibre for maybe ten years or more, I found out many years ago that Cool Reader was better for my use. I need to use the special proof reading font DPCustomMono2 because it distincts very clearly between similar characters. I can't remember if that was a problem with Calibre, but it may have been the reason that I changed apps.

I take it you have not switched to DP Sans Mono yet?

@DNSB No, I have not. I didn't even know it excists. When I was 30, or even 40 or maybe 50, I was very hooked on being updated on stuff that wasn't related to security as well. Now, a year and a half before I turn 60, I don't really bother as long as stuff works as I want it to. Windows 11 will never haunt my pc's...

Unfortunately that didn't change anything.

Because development of Cool Reader is basically done, you won't get any bugs fixed.

If you have a device that's compatible with KOReader, you can switch to that.

For my uses, it was more that DP Sans Mono includes more Unicode characters than DP Custom Mono2 while maintaining much the same glyph appearance. I like them for proofreading since they make it a lot easier to see where someone has used the wrong character.
