I have tried the new paperwhite and my opinion is mixed for what it is. It feels like the OS and overall stability has gotten quicker-snappy as everything had no lag and was instant, which was unlike 11gen where it sometimes would slow down to a crawl. I noticed the screen difference almost immediately and loved the new rounded edges. That's were the love stopped, however. First one screen warmth was almost brown as cardboard- like having warm light set to max settings on 11th gen for me at 10-15% brightness without having warm light enabled, max brightness made it worse. I seen photo's of this, but they were not as bad as the one I had so I thought it down to bad luck. Second one was even worse, however. I doubt I'll try for a third time, but something feels off with the screen, that or I'm unlucky

I find there's no reason to discuss about this. It's clear that "no buttons" actually started as a feature in amazon mind, well going touch and having no need of them was the feature. They recognized their appeal and reintroduced them as a feature with oasis, but at least today it looks like they don't think there's enought people that wants them or they'd include them more, so yeah i would say it's a feature but one that's hardly recognized as a plus, at least for amazon

Could it be corrected by a firmware update (if the hardware is capable of it I guess it could)? |

I was never particularly enamoured of my Voyage; no warm light and the ergonomics felt wrong to me. I sold it several years ago. I've more or less accepted the fact that there will never be a Goldilocks ereader for me. All ereaders I've used have had their faults. I'm quite content with my current Kobo devices, but they're not perfect. |

Got the matcha base, loving it, fast and best looking eink i have, finally got back to recessed screen. It's better than scribe but i cannot understand if it's just for all the layers missing on it or it's also carta 1300... I personally feel it is, but i don't have the kobo to compare, i just tried it in store.
