[GUI Plugin] FanFicFare

When I try to get story urls from email, I get the message:

error:b'LOGIN failed.'

when I look at the details, this is what is at the bottom:

I haven't changed anything since the last time I did this, so I'm not sure where the problem is? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Changes have occurred at Microsoft mail servers ( live.com / outlook.com / hotmail.com ) that prevent the use of 3rd party email clients. Look at gmx as an option

Yes, but you'll probably need use Google App Passwords. I believe Google requires two factor authentication(2FA) now.

WARNING There's very little data protection in Python--once you've given FanFicFare your password, any plugin or other part of Calibre could potentially read it if it knows to look for it. Alternatively, if you use 2FA on Gmail you can use Google App Passwords.

Replace_metadata with a conditional might work. I just woke up so it's possible I mucked this up:

I was really proud of myself recently when I remmebered to set up a new app password for this when I changed my google password changed BEFORE freaking out over why it wasn't working.

I know this isn't something that would work the same as the current blocklist, and I currently deal with it via email filters, but it'd be nice to be able to block stuff based on fandom, or even author and fandom--like, I like some things by X author, and in Y fandom, but not X author in Y fandom. I'm automating as much as I can, but still have to go through downloaded fic to cull ones I don't want before I upload to Bookfusion.

might have been answered before, or might not, but I'm having trouble getting story URL from email, keeps giving me this message:

Granted, I haven't been updating either calibre or my macos since they're been working fine, but I was just wondering what can I do to fix this? Leave it for a few days or try updating?

What's your email? Outlook.com recently changed their authentication so that will not work anymore.

Ah, I’m using outlook… so I’m guessing my best option is to change email account to gmail or something?
