These are the required XPATHS:
/bookinfo/booklist/book /bookinfo/booklist/book/mainsection/title /bookinfo/booklist/book/mainsection/authors/author/person/displayname It's simpler to use BookCollectors "Export to text" function. Export at least the following fields: Title Author Optionally also export: Publisher Publication Date Series Issue No. Then use the plug-in to import from CSV. Map the fields appropriately. It's not obvious, map Issue No. to Series Index . |

Suggestions for plugin,
I have trouble seeing these days and was wondering if there was a way of making the changed metadata before importing be bold instead of just blue? I have a hard time seeing the changes when it isn't in bold. I basically just scroll down the list quickly and when I catch a blue text then I know a change has been made, so I will make sure it's good, but if it's not bold, then I generally will miss it. My old eyes aren't what they used to be. ![]() Also, if there is an option to not include the tags by default? That tag column makes it much harder to see any changes if I am not importing into it. If I want to see all or the main columns at once without having to scroll over. Finally, why cant the identifiers in the columns be seen before changing or updating the metadata? |

Getting Import List to work with Match by Identifier
HI, I'm having some difficulty getting Import List to work with Match Method - Identifier.
I have several ebooks with no metadata and file names=titles such as 002cow, 027ant, fourfeathers, marsi etc. I have a html file with descriptions of each though. So I thought I'd do 2 steps. Firstly, to use Import List to match each book by title and Unknown author and update each book with a uuid (from a CSV file just assigning a uuid). Secondly, to use Import List to match each book by uuid and update each book with the correct title, author, tags, comments (from another csv with the new data created from my html file). I tested it using file/book fourfeathers and the first stage worked fine and is repeatable. The second stage says it can't find a match whatever I try. I hope someone can help identify what I am doing wrong? |

uuid is a read-only unique identifier assigned by calibre for each book. It is 128-bit unique identifier represented as hexadecimal digits.
uuid would look like this: Code:
03c78cc3-bdf6-471b-b263-e28ee126965a |

Your Calibre is 13 releases OLD. (current is 7.19 ) <this is not fractional numbering
Restarts are needed after initial install to get Calibre to actually integrate the plugin just added (installed). That only happens at startup. |

What OS are you running? Where did you get calibre, distro or official? Post a debug log showing calibre's starting up. |

You first need to go to the official calibre website and install the latest calibre from there. Distro versions of calibre are known to be all kinds of wrong.

Distro versions also tend to be frozen at the time of the Distro release (semi-annual). Calibre tends to get bi-weekly updates.
We won't even get into some get 'fixed' by folk who 'know better' (and don't do the exhaustive checks). |

Can we use Import List to update Tags, including remove tags? The plugin only seems to append to Tags, not update.
Here's a screenshot after I pressed the "Update metadata for the selected books in the list" button. |
