Meh. No buttons or ergonomical shape, just boring oblongs which are uncomfortable to hold. Not interested, no matter how good the colors are.

This is true. I have guessed from the accidentally released photo and press release that it's a version of the Gallery 3 display. When definite information comes to light, I'll update the first post.

(I had thought that the release in Spanish was just a little early and wouldn't be withdrawn, which is why I posted as I did.)

Agreed. I am truly sorry that Amazon has abandoned buttons. The fact that sideloaded content will sync between devices is a strong plus for Amazon, but without page turn buttons, I will not be buying.

The plot thickens. Colorsoft supports EPUBs! This is a departure for Amazon, which has always shied away from that format.

(Supported formats: Kindle Format 8 (AZW3), Kindle (AZW), TXT, PDF, unprotected MOBI, PRC natively; PDF, DOCX, DOC, HTML, EPUB, TXT, RTF, JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP through conversion; Audible audio format (AAX).)

No, it won't support EPUB. Note the phrase "through conversion" - this means Send To Kindle supports EPUB, not the Kindle itself. Same as now.

How did you reach this conclusion? The display technology doesn’t seem to be named on the page you linked to.

EPUB is only supported through conversion, i.e. via Send To Kindle. It’s been the case for all Kindles for a while now.

The screen in the article looks a lot like my Clara Colour (Kaleido) and this paragraph suggests that the writer doesn't a lot about the kaleido:

Ah yes indeed, that’s true. If it’s the case then the Colorsoft will have some serious competition from Kobo if Amazon maintains this price point.
