Thank you!
Downloading books doesn't work for me either.

I wonder what libbyapp.com is doing that the plugin can't imitate (both for staying logged in and for downloading). I'd have thought there's a way watching network traffic and then simulating it (something I'm not good at), but I guess it's doing something odd or complex.

There are projects to capture cookies from a site, such as https://github.com/borisbabic/browser_cookie3 and https://github.com/thewh1teagle/rookie and even selenium for imitating a browser. Is there some other security thing libby is doing?

I see that mitmproxy can record and replay web traffic. If you record the process of downloading a book and then replay it, does it download the book again?

Libby has an option to connect to Sonos speakers. I assume it's for those who'd like to listen to audiobooks from their Libby using the Sonos speakers directly?

Well to be fair it's known for selling speakers, even I know them for their soundbars. But they launched a great wireless headphone some time ago!

That's exactly right. I have a Sonos ARC soundbar that I can play Libby audiobooks through.

I have installed many of $onos units in the past for clients of my employer.

I just missed the thread references to it as a book Listening device

The idea being you can get a code to enter into the plugin. The only problem is that it doesn't help.

There is no Sonos in MY home theater.
My main (front) speakers are now 60 years old.
They are Altec-Lansing 605A (16 ohms) back when Tubes were king (and mostly all you got). The TREX in Jurassic park (water filled foot print) rattled things on the wall at the other end of the house and I never hit 5 Watts.

Yes, they have some custom security code that runs in obfuscated javascript that makes it difficult.

Out of curiosity:

You can't just run the javascript in the plugin? Or run something like selenium to imitate a browser?
