FLAC files play ok
FLAC files don't get recognised in the music player, but if you rename them to .mp3 then it can play them fine. It just doesn't show the duration of the song correctly.
Not sure if it's possible to change the file associations somewhere so they show up in the player without renaming. |

extensions.cfg is the place to search. If it is not found under:

Thanks, I tried adding the flac extension by copying the mp3 section, but it didn't make it appear in the music player. I also tried adding it directly in the /ebrmain/config/extensions.cfg file, and same result. So I think there must be another setting file somewhere.

It would be helpful to see your extensions.cfg

Here's the relevant section:
Code:
hrss:@HTML_file:1:browser.app:ICON_HTM mhtml:@MHTML_file:1:browser.app:ICON_MHTML m3u:@M3U_file:3:music_player.app:ICON_MP3 mp3:@MP3_file:3:music_player.app:ICON_MP3 flac:@MP3_file:3:music_player.app:ICON_MP3 jpg:@JPEG_image:2:picviewer.app:ICON_JPG jpeg:@JPEG_image:2:picviewer.app:ICON_JPG |

Thanks, that should work. There isn't another setting file for extensions. No need to tinker with:
/ebrmain/config/extensions.cfg If: /mnt/ext1/system/config/extensions.cfg exists, it has priority. Not sure if the device is differentiating between FLAC & flac Just look at OwnSudoku: https://github.com/progtologist/OwnSudoku which adds a new filteype: sudoku:@SUDOKU_file:1:OwnSudoku.app:ICON_TXT into extensions.cfg and it is working with old and new firmware too. |

Hacky workaround... add a user script to bulk rename from *.flac to *.flac.mp3 Easy to identify and convert back if necessary. You could if you were being super-neat add a launcher (with icon, then hide the original) for the Music Player so it renames any found .flac files on launch. No need for reboot if flac files are associated to a script via extensions.cfg which renames them on the fly to mp3 and then sends the music file to musicplayer.

Yeah, your music player probably doesn't support FLAC files natively. Renaming them to .mp3 works for playback but messes with the duration display. Look into changing file associations in your device settings or music player app for a proper fix.

FLAC files should be supported in the latest firmware.
