Kobo made a lot of changes to the firmware as part of launching the new devices, so you can't currently do everything that you could do on older devices. You may wish to watch the NickelMenu GitHub repo to track if/when things get fixed.

Is there a way to bluetooth connect to a previously connected device by device id? Currently available bluetooth actions don't seem very useful if I still have to open up the bluetooth settings menu to connect to the device.

Otherwise, is there a way to open up the bluetooth menu directly instead having to go through the settings menus?

I imagine there must be someway to do it with cmd_spawn

follow the guide. I cant find a guide I understand.

what is it, I have to put in the KOBOeReader/.adds/nm/config I created?

I have the NickelMenu because I installed Koreader. but that is all. how to get all the other stof??

found some configs I copied to the file.
and did a 1 click install of koreader+plato
seems to work. But koreader is shown 2 times and plato 3 times in menu??

prevent Nickel from scanning *nix hidden folders.
how and where to copy to?

The only entries that nickelmenu displays are those specified in the files placed in the .adds/nm folder.

So if those files contain duplicated entries for plato and koreader then the menus displayed by nickelmenu will contain multiple entries for them

SOLUTION:

The path and the commands have been changed in the latest firmware. So, the script has to be adapted accordingly. The path is mc13892_bat instead of battery:

I've installed this version of NM on a Libra 2 running 4.38.23038. I'm trying to use an 8BitDo Micro controller to turn pages, using instructions I found on Reddit.

How is the Bluetooth Scan supposed to work? For me, it just reboots the Kobo.

I've never used the scan, I had already had the device listed under bluetooth settings. I have used the build of the nickelmenu that you linked to enable/disable bluetooth with no issue.

Is there a way to get a menu item to open the Bluetooth Connection modal (preferably from the reading screen)? It's tedious to go through 5 screens just to reconnect my 8bitdo remote

The Bluetooth On & Scan feature rarely works with my remote (8bitdo micro) so I'm trying to find an alternative that is guaranteed to always connect with it

yeah that is the only annoying thing for me too - gotta go out of the book, then to nickel, etc etc, back to book.

I think it is supposed to be 42, but 50 looks perfect to me on the 2e and the BW.

Mine is a 128x128 PNG file. It seems to work OK.
