Well, the PW5 has a flush screen unlike the H2O. But the same shape and close to the same size, with the H2O slightly bigger in every dimension. Buttons are not all created equally. I did not find Oasis at all comfortable, but my PocketBook Era is just fine.

I know everyone here disregards Barnes & Noble, but I love having buttons on both sides. I can change hands without having to turn the reader around. I have a PW4 and I use it occasionally just to make sure I still prefer buttons. I won't buy another reader without buttons.

I liked where Sony put the buttons with the IR touch because they were 100% out of the way at the bottom of the screen. I never used the page turn buttons. I always used the IR touch.

The nook hardware is not bad. But the software is atrocious.

I may be wrong but I suspect that this will only be a minor update to the existing lineup, possibly driven by unavailability of some of the older parts being used. Amazon does not sell enough Kindles to have much influence over the supply chain.

The Paperwhite has better battery then basic. my mother and i got kindles at the same time 2019 editions. she got the paperwhite and i asked for the basic. wish i had got the paperwhite but you live and learn. image is also better. but that doesnt really count for if anything if you just read books and not view comics and magazines . but battery size definitely would have sold it to me

one other thing . not sure how much a selling point this would be . but i hope they make the tts voice less robotic. yes i know you can get audiobooks. but not all of us have the data availaible to download gigs of data for each book. and they are some quite good voices out there.

Basic Kindle, Paperwhite SE and Oasis still unavailable at Amazon UK.

It would be really great to see a Kindle with the Gallery 3 colour eInk. But I suspect it'll just be a minor update to the existing models.

Hmmm… what is the Kindle Scribe availability like in the UK? - I only see the 16GB with Basic Pen available in the US.
