This is how guys decorate Pringles cans. It's a 2.5 GHz directional wifi antenna. Very nice for May Day, I guess.

1st of May at some locations (mostly Berlin Kreuzberg) in Germany:

What?: riots
Why?: because some members of the very left and very right wings think it's their duty to use the 1st of may for demonstrations and street riots
How?: violent
Bananas, Grapes, Chocolate?: No, just bottles, stones, burning dustbins, molotov cocktails, pepper spray, truncheons

That's going on here for years. Since 1984 we see such street riots on every 1st of may at some locations in germany.

We did that when we were growing up (in IL), but the tradition seems to have disappeared. I always think that I should restart that tradition with my daughter... well, maybe next year!

I didn't know that these two titles are available as comics. I can't imagine that such people can be able to read and understand such literature otherwise.

Spring traditions in Derbyshire .... Well Dressing ....

Pictures made with flowers on a large base ..... popular in mnay villages at this time of year.....

The true origins of Well Dressing are lost in the mists of time. According to many sources, it developed from a pagan custom of making sacrifice to the gods of wells and springs to ensure a continued supply of fresh water. Like many folk traditions, it was later adopted by the Christian Church as a way of giving thanks to God for His gift to us of water. Tradition has it that it took on a special significance in 17th century Derbyshire as various villages, notably Tissington, gave thanks for their deliverance from the Plague which had decimated nearby Eyam. In truth they had been spared by the altruism of the inhabitants of Eyam, who quarantined themselves while the disease, accidentally introduced in a package of clothing from London, ran its deadly course. Of course, this does not mean that the other villages has any less cause to express their grateful thanks.
