3-4 short stories a week? Argh, now i'm feeling sad.
Now i need to convince myself that you must be a "braggart", maybe i will feel better then.

No, seriously, you can do it too. It's just a matter of having fun and forgetting that it's supposed to be hard. They never tell you that on writing courses, it's all about plot and knowing what your character ate for breakfast when they were fifteen. Too much of writing is spent without joy, without having fun, I should know, I spent ten years not having that much fun writing. Couple of things that I heard that stuck with me, and I try to live my writing life by them:

If you're not excited by the story, then why bother. Throw it away.

Character is action, everything else is just window dressing.

You don't write what you know, you write to find out what you know.

and, my favourite of all.....

Plot is just footsteps left in the snow after your character has passed by

Maybe, if i would take time. I've a job, family and a lot concurring interests. (eg. mobile reading ) Every four or five weeks i spend some time on writing. In the intervals between writing i spend a lot of time on developing plots. I do it mostly for fun and not for money or to become well known. I can't imagine myself being a full time writer...

Well I have no children so that frees up a lot of time. I think you're already approaching writing the correct way - for fun and not profit. If you can get the fun part working, then everything else is just a bonus

Brilliant ....

You have a wonderful way with twists in the plot, and a delightful spin of words through the story. For some reason Van Gogh became my image of the artist, painting in his way in the dark.....

I love the evocation this brings to my imagination .....

"The lights of a million and more souls were bright that night. They loved and laughed and talked and drank and where they could they smoked as others had smoked in secret rooms thick with ideas."

A nice story, Moe. I enjoyed it. I didn't know cats and birds spoke the same language!

Can I point out a small typo? Near the middle of the story is the sentence "Zelda sat, eyeing the cat for weakness, but could find none." Shouldn't that be Zelda eyeing the bird?
