Have you had that many issues with copying files with errors to a Kindle over USB? A solution in search of a problem.

Last time I looked at BackBlaze, they quoted unlimited storage for $99 US per year and were tied to Amazon.

Other options might include Google Drive Personal with 15TB and no yearly cost. If you are invested in the Microsoft Office ecosystem perhaps get Microsoft Office 365 for a lower yearly cost giving you Microsoft Office and 1TB of online storage. There are quite a few other online storage services with lower prices than BackBlaze for personal use. I suppose that someone could manage to exceed 1TB backing up calibre libraries (one acquaintance of mine does so with their corporate library) but for personal use, even assuming a larger average ebook size of 16MB, you could store over 65,000 ebooks. Which is bit more than most people would be able to read in a lifetime. Looking at my main library with ~15K epubs which takes up 29GB so around 1.5MB per epub, if I exclude my cookbook collection which tend to be on the large side with multiple illustrations, the average file size drops to 734KB. Using those numbers, I could store between 669 thousand to 1.46 million books in 1TB. Syncing my calibre library to cloud/NAS/whatever when calibre is not running works well for me with a differntial backup each time calibre is run and a monthly full backup. |

What about a plugin that reads from a txt list of words imported from other applications and finds every occurrence of the words in the book, highlighting those words in calibre viewer?

				Getting Metadata from Novel Updates

			Hello,

Is there a way to build a plugin that pulls metadata from NovelUpdates? I end up having to manually fill in the data myself for each one of my books that I create. |

How about a plugin to eject the attached device with a single click of the plugin?

A couple of plugins let me eject my Kobo, but they require clicking on a down triangle, then choosing eject from the list of options. I'd like to cut out a step. |

I was hoping for a Metadata Source Plugin for the "iheartsapphfic(dot)com" website. They have a good amount of books with many tags that I would love to be automatically added to the metadata instead of always doing it manually. I read that it's possible to make if the website is built well enough, but I have no programming knowledge. I tried reading the "Writing your own plugins to extend calibre’s functionality" manual on the Calibre website, but it all goes over my head. Is there a "for dummies" version of that somewhere? Lol. Thanks! Rei

Forgot to mention where exactly the book listing is on that site.

It's in iheartsapphfic(Dot)com/all-categories/. I'm not sure if links are allowed, so just change the (Dot) to a real dot. Thanks!

Links to legal sites are allowed. But do not use any shortcut links they are not allowed. Use the full links.

			Thanks JSWolf for the info.

So, here is the link to the "Home" page of the book listing. https://iheartsapphfic.com/all-categories/ . Once on a specific book's page, you can see the tags that I was hoping to be able to scan and add to the metadata in Calibre. I was hoping to try it on this website as well: https://thelesbianreview.com/ I don't know if it's possible or not. Thanks for any advice you can give. |
