There are a couple of charities that send us free address labels. We use the labels, but don't give them anything. I've taken to giving money anonymously to charities (when I can afford to give at all) so they don't get my contact info and can't waste money sending me follow-up junk.

At Christmas time it is like running a blockade. Every few feet another one jumps out at you and tries to get you to donate. If I wanted to donate regularly to a charity, I would do it through their website, not through some kid on the street. And some are very persistent.

according to Wikipedia their French name is Melolontha, German name Maikäfer (oh and the description is pretty cool).

Theres a supermarket where I shop on a regular base. One of the really annoying problems is, that there are "charity stands" on a regular base - and I really, really dont like being (more or less) rudely addressed by people wanting my money. I give if and when I can - but never ever at the door, at a stand or one a whim ...
Couldn't they just leave me alone?

he tormented me all damned night despite my best efforts to kill him (which means i'm suffering from sleep-deprivation today) and just now he dared rear his ugly head again to mock me in broad daylight, and despite a fast-paced pursuit around the room and the murderous intentions animating me he GOT AWAY AGAIN !!! it's barely may, where the hell did he even come from so early ????
