Any way to prevent accidental opening of read books?

The little "..." used to open book menu is very small and I accidentally opening books when trying to check the book details or add/remove book to collection. Is there anything that can help with this?

Try tap and hold on the book and use the context menu?

Using a stylus instead of a finger helps, but it still happens occasionally.

I know this is obvious, but it has to be said. Don't tap the book title or icon.

To make it clear: I have hand tremours. If I try to tap the "..." sometimes I miss. If I try to hold, sometimes it's accidentally a tap. I was hoping maybe for a patch that would change the tap behaviour so that it opened the menu or the book details. |

Kobo could make the target area much bigger. It's not as if there's something near it. I have big hands and have to be very careful when tapping the ... or I'll open the book.

Probably not. I have always hated this, but this is a touch screen feature. At the least I would like the last read date, rating and book mark to be kept, unless I am given the option from the Kobo ereader to override this in case I make a mistake. This is mainly because I do not want older read books at the top of my list in case I accidently opened them. |

Try making a request in the patches thread?

You could try removing the download of finished books. There’s a setting for that. Then when you accidentally activate the book, it’ll download instead of open—assuming that this is a purchased book. For side loaded books, the only way to prevent them from opening again is to delete them. I feel for you. My mum has post-polio syndrome and she is a disaster on these teeny devices with her shaky hands. She gets herself into worlds of trouble by crazy, accidental event triggering on her iPhone. But as for the Kobo, it can be over sensitive. I constantly open a book when I’m trying to tap that … icon for more info instead.
