Happy 4th, fellow Americans!

All four of my Kobos have updated over-the-air today to the latest 4.38.23038 firmware. So those who prefer to wait for it to arrive OTA might want to turn on wifi and check. I was downloading my latest library loans when I saw it was available.

I've not had any database issues, but that's probably because I rarely use the two older devices, and Forma and Sage are rarely connected to the computer because it's easier to use Dropbox. Still, I'm happy to have the update!

It is nice to know that the database issue has been fixed. We can look forward to no more posts about a corrupted database from anyone with this firmware or later.

Well, likely it can be corrupted by dodgy cables, pulling out cable without waiting for eject to complete, or connecting USB when in the middle of taking a note or something...

I'll still go to "My Books" before connecting and wait for "My Books" unread to update before disconnecting after an eject.

I updated my CBW to 4.39.23027 and applied the same patches that worked for the previous FW including:
My 10 line spacing
Custom L & R margins
Custom font sizes
ePub disable built-in body padding-bottom
Custom kepub default margins
Custom navigation menu page number text
Allow USB storage even when device locked
Remove recommendations (row1col2) from home screen
Custom header/footer page number text
DeveloperSettings - AutoUsbGadget
Unify font sizes
Disable orphans/widows avoidance
Custom synopsis details line spacing
Increase Book Details synopsis area
Reduce new header/footer height
Remove footer (row3) and increase cover size on new home screen

I have updated my Forma to 4.38.23038 with the patch from 21908. Most of the stuff works as expected. The only negative change I've noticed so far is that "Eject USB device" stopped working again. It was not working till 21908, and was fixed.
I am not sure whether it worked in 23038 before I applied the patch.
I am on Win 11
