Don't want to see Hitchhiker's Guide (afraid it will let me down), Crusade in Jeans (same), Winter in Wartime (same)... I generally don't like movie remakes of a book, they are always disappointing. Some more than others, but I've not really seen one movie where I say: yes, excellently done! |

Oh, they were awesome movies. By themselves. Do I think they honour the books? No. Some parts are always overblown as people seem to expect them (love stories), other parts are forgotten or at least became a minor part of the movie (while I think they are important parts of the story).
At least they didn't try to put it all in one movie... (I can only think of one mini-series that I really love that is based on a book, and that is Shogun) |
