Fix Kobo Mini destroyed by Factory Reset
I had a perfectly good Kobo Mini that was acting a bit wonky (it wouldn’t change the picture of the book I am reading). I tried to update with the Kobo software and kept getting and error so I tried a Factory Restart.
When that failed I discovered that that was a bad idea. How to I get this Kobo Mini working again as an eReader? |

Have you tried manually flashing new firmware? https://pgaskin.net/KoboStuff/kobofirmware.html I used glo firmware 4.38.21908 on mine put it into the .kobo directory when your hooked to a computer. It was fussy for me after factory reset and took several tries. If your original firmware was old and you didn't do the mandatory update you might try 4.34.20097 flash it and then the newer one. Its working but my wifi isn't I have a post but I imagine my problem is my router not the firmware.

What do you mean by "failed"?

I am not sure what you mean by flashing. I did download the firmware and copied it to the kobo but it doesn’t seem to do anything. I suspect I don't know what I am doing.
I tried 3.19.5761-s which was beside the Mini. You seem to be suggesting I try something newer. have I understood correctly? |

I followed instructions elsewhere about downloading the firmware for the Kobo Glo to the .kobo directory. I have done that but it doesn’t not reboot on eject as indicated. It just sits there as if nothing has changed. When I manually reboot it I get the Welcome to Kobo screen asking me to set it up.
