Mobius screen reduces contrast, I've heard, so no to that, if it's true. |

I wonder why it's not used more in ereaders then? Kobo only used Mobius in the Forma and not in newer models. Too expensive? Any other drawbacks?

Mobius flexible screens are more durable/less prone to breaking due to their decreased rigidity, but they are not as crisp as the Carta glass screens, IIRC.
I tend to agree that a Libra 3E seems unnecessary at this point; it's more likely we'll see a Nia/Sage 2E. |

The Sage is limited by the screen performance, so doesn't need more CPU.
They need to ditch all those magnets (4, 6, 8?), the power cover port and have a larger battery. Also make the page turn buttons more reliable. It's maybe a SW issue, but the original Libra is fine. I can't use the Sage to record narration. The original Libra is good. There is nothing wrong with contrast. It only needs a newer eink panel if it's faster whole page refresh and faster part update for notes. They also need to have more of the Nebo iOS/Android features such as keyboard support and PDF annotation with converted text and copy/paste that works between epub / notebooks/ PDF annotation etc. It's like three gadgets, not not one. I would definitely be interested in a Forma/Sage replacement. I have a Libra 2 but much prefer the 8 inch format. I had a Sage but sold it due to its battery life.

From what I've seen on Eink's site, it would appear that you can get a Carta 1300 film with Mobius substrate in a 9.7" size. This would suggest that the Eink Carta 1300 film can be applied to the plastic substrate if you are willing to order enough units.

Depends on the power requirements of the processor and the power management circuitry. One criticism of the Sage and Elipsa is the sunxi power management sucking which is similar to complaints about some of the Pocketbook models using sunxi parts. Part of what Kobo did to reduce power use is to aggressively suspend with light on when not charging. This, IMHO, is likely one of the reasons for complaints about the buttons on the Sage since it takes a while to unsuspend.
