I think with Jeff B gone, the Oasis will not be replaced. The Kindle was his passion, and I think the top people at Amazon nowadays could not care less about Kindles. So, even though I don’t love the guy, I still think it’s a shame he’s not involved with the day to day running of Amazon any more. Sorry to be pessimistic - I certainly hope I’m wrong.

The Oasis 9th gen, 32gb is available as used very good condition, with ads for $145. There are TWO left in stock. I got mine today and it looks brand new. Not a scratch.
I set it up and I am going to test the battery life on it.
It's listed as ad-supported, but in my device list on Amazon it say "ad free".

Act quickly because there are only two left.

Edit: six hours later now they are all gone.

I agree. They've got a budget model, two versions of a very good model (PW) and a premium model. I don't see them introducing something else, but I hope I'm wrong.

Just for fun, I chatted with Amazon customer support to inquire about when the Oasis would be in stock again. I was told that they don't have any information about when it would be restocked and pointed me to the Paperwhite.

The Kindle exists to sell books and I'm doubtful oasis owners buy many more books than paperwhite owners. They are not the whales that bring in the bulk of profits
