Around here, the sale is $20 Cdn off the Libra 2, $30 Cdn off the Sage and $50 Cdn off the Elipsa.

BTW, my preferred links for FCC information is to the https://fcc.report/ site.

For the two new devices, those would be NOIKBN365 and NOIKBN428 which allows you to see the titles for the currently blocked information.

There is no sale on the Kobo.com site from France: the Libra 2 is 200€. But on the Fnac site it is 170€, so 20€ less than when I bought it from Fnac in October 2022.

As for the new ereaders, I'm crossing my fingers for
  • an Elipsa with 300 dpi and comfort light Pro
  • a Sage with 1 Gb ram and 2400 mAh battery

Only the Elipsa is on sale in their UK store.

The Elipsa was already replaced with the Elipsa 2E in the middle of 2023, so it doesn't seem likely that it is being replaced again.

It does seem more likely now that the known new models - N428 (FCC testing started on 18 Oct 2023) and the N365 (FCC testing started on 24 Dec 2023) - are going to be replacements of the Sage and Libra 2.

Surely Amazon's exclusive deal with E-Ink for those large 300ppi screens has ended by now.

Boox just released another non 300ppi Note Air 3 so I'd say it's still in effect.

Boox to me exemplifies questionable hardware choices. It seems much more likely that they could get their hands on cheap old gen 10" screens than Amazon being the culprit. Just compare their previous 10" devices using old Carta tech when the Elipsa was on 1200 and even their own Max Lumi was using Carta 1250.

Their Nova (7.8") line was never upgraded to Carta 1200. It probably will be if they release a Nova Air 3 this year. Still, it's time for Carta 1300 now.

Their Poke line (6") is also stuck on old Carta screens.

I hope whatever model Kobo is planning on releasing will be using Carta 1300.

I have heard that their deal expired at the end of November 2023, but I haven't seen any actual sources.

I doubt even Boox would be able to switch panels within a month!

Well, leaning toward the topic, if Kobo is working on a new Sage they need to do something SERIOUS about battery life. I love the device with buttons but compared to my Scribe with battery life literally in weeks the Sage is battery life of days at best. Having to turn pages so much more frequently is part of the problem I'm sure but it's really awful on battery life.

I could go for a new Libra. I'm not sure what they'd add to it, but I love that size and form factor.

I just realized that last year was the first year I didn't buy a new ereader in probably ten years. I am ready for a new white Libra 3! Hoping they move the buttons a little closer to the screen, and keep the screen indented. Otherwise I will purchase a Libra 2. I had one two years ago, and returned it due to buyer's remorse/guilt. I also had the Libra H20 prior to that.

I love the Kobo fonts and page layout options, including the progress bar. I also love white as an ereader color. My first ever ereader was the white Kindle 2, almost 14 years ago now, incredibly.

I sold mine due to the battery life. I’m using a Forma. I’d love a new 8 inch reader but I want it light and with good battery life

I would love an 8" Libra with the forum factor of the Aura H2O, a faster [processor. a larger capacity battery to handle the larger screen and a faster processor.

Light and good battery life won't go together. The battery needs more capacity and for the larger screen and the faster processor. Most higher capacity batteries are heavier.

I prefer worse battery life and lighter weight any time. Make the battery even smaller!
