Umm... Purolator is 91% owned by Canada Post since around 1987.

Delivery services generally are getting poorer. And our post —well I could give a real diatribe. Amazon prime have started not delivering on the appointed day. Very disappointing.

Well, this time the Purolator guy got out of the bloody truck... and just stuck a "we missed you!" notice on the front door to the apartment building and left before I could make it all the way down the stairs.

Hopefully you have some documentation of this behavior you can send in with a complaint? Or to some consumer watchdog media? |

My complex, a high rise, has radiator heat. Built in 1935 well the heater/boiler been breaking down. -9° outside and no heat. The boiler would run a few hrs then shut down. They been restarting the boiler first thing in the am but its been shutting down at night when it gets freaking cold. The overnight maintenance line are awful to deal with. I don't think they are even in the USA. i am just not calling anymore. i let other people in my building do it. i can't be the only one calling. i went out to walmart in -35° windchill and got me a heating blanket

After a couple of weeks of DIYing, deep cleaning and sanitizing (removing a lot of things) in my sister's apartment before the real estate agent's photographer came by last week and cleaning up after the plasterer redid the bathroom's ceiling last Thursday this weekend we're, again, in cleaning mode.
Next Wednesday and Thursday the real estate agent is going to show the apartment. So this weekend I'm deep cleaning the bathroom (third time in three weeks) and kitchen (second time in 10 days) and my own room. On Monday and Tuesday I'm in charge of packing up things and carrying them downstairs to our storage room, though it probably won't be as much as last week. And on Friday I'm carrying all that stuff up again. I've booked a hotel room (well, capsule in a capsule hotel) from Wednesday until Friday. The real estate agent will arrive at 9 am and I there's a chance the last person viewing the apartment won't leave until 6 or 7 pm. I'm not someone that is able to go shopping or go out for a day for 9 or 10 hours for two days, so a hotel it is. Not looking forward to it all. I'm just tired of cleaning, packing and unpacking. But after next week we'll have some time to take it easy before we're moving in May or June. |

I finally got my damned package. I literally just sat in the apartment entrance (I brought my eReader) until they showed up. The entrance is unheated, by the way. Not fun.

It's that time of year again. Time to set the mouse traps in the garage, attic, various crawl spaces, etc.
And by "mouse traps" I mean "rat traps". I've never had reason to suspect rats, but nearly all of our mice are white footed "field" mice (even in the attic) and they've been known to overpower mere mouse traps. Also, in the attic we occasionally get flying squirrels that make it in through the eave vents. Rat traps work well on them, too. |

Now with it being 22 degrees outside (F.) we should have more constant heat. When I am sitting on the sofa, I am using a heated throw blanket and a heating pad. Heat has been a problem here for about 15 years. The building management is too cheap to give good heat. It's never even warm in here. The super does not live in the building, so he never knew how it was unless I called or texted him, and he never understood the problem. He changes the valve on the radiators almost every year to prove he did something about it. |

We had issues with a delivery company not always delivering on time. This was the food for our dog. My wife called the company who makes his food and told them if they continued to use that delivery company we would no longer get his food from them. They switched to a reliable delivery company and we've had no problem since.

Many people rely on home delivery for their own food, and for their pets. Prices are set accordingly, and a delivery service must be dependable. Why would you laugh at that?
How you may or may not feel about another member doesn't change that, if that was the motivation for your laughter. |
