Elipsa 2E Books Disappeared from My Books

I hope someone can help me with this: I have an Elipsa 2E and when I opened it this morning, most of the books in my library had vanished. The library wash showing 25 books in my library when I had over 200, most which where sideloaded epub files. I tried everything I could think of to get everything back, but no luck so far.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem? The Elipsa 2E was an expensive purchase and is of no further use if my books keep disappearing.

Did you connect over USB to verify that the books are still there? If so, it sounds like your database corrupted. You can restore a backup if you have one, or you can do a factory reset to wipe the database and start over.

What firmware are you using? 4.37 and 4.38 seem to both be prone to database corruptions compared to 4.35 and earlier. You may also wish to downgrade the firmware to see if that stops the problem from happening again.

But do not go below 4.36 since installing firmware older than the factory firmware is a good way to produce a paperweight.

Thanks for the responses. I'm using 4.38 and have connected my Kobo to Calibre but the books have not returned. Fortunately I keep a backup of the books I sideload so I can put them back using Dropbox. I've had several different Kobo devices over the years but have never had this happen before. I love Kobo readers but can't have this happen again.
