I also don't really get why modern 6" readers lack page turn buttons. My Kindle 2 had them on each side of the bezel, as did other early 6" Kindle models. I just won't buy anything that doesn't have buttons. |

I would like a new Libra 2E that has a more powerful battery and faster processor. I don't want the battery life to be any worse for putting in a faster processor. Last edited by JSWolf; 01-11-2024 at 02:11 PM. |

Why? I understand if I'm going out for a long time, not in other situation. A lighter device, that I can carry on easily is more important for me, than a battery that allows me to charge it every two months instead of every two weeks. So no, I don't need better batteries.

I then moved up to 8" and realised Manga was now an option too, the drawback being the screen real estate isn't quite big enough. Now, I'm seriously considering a small ebook reader for novels and taking out with me, and something in the 10" range for Manga and pdf reading. Extravagant spending, probably. But, reading is a huge part of my life, so worth the money. |

That, I can understand. And, in that case, faster processor. Aditionally, it's not a device for going around with it (usually), so weight is not a big concern. But for a smaller device, weight is a big point.

I have my Kobo Clara for books and a Pixel Slate with a 12.3" screen for American and British comics. But most manga is reprinted in tankōbon about the same size as a Libra 2 screen. Will a larger tablet benefit manga much?

This quick and dirty number juggling did not allow for trimming the margins to increase the size of the images. My daughter's manga ebooks do not seem to do so. |

Manga has never looked brilliant on the Forma when I have tried reading it because the screen size doesn't match the page format. As there's no reader with a screen size between 8" and 10" available (at least in the UK) I'm not exactly spoilt for choice.
I just had a quick look with a ruler and the forma screen diagonal is 20cm (a touch under 8"). My 10" tablet screen has a diagonal measurement of around 25.5cm (a touch under 10"). My paper copy of Death Note is 23cm (just over 9") across the diagonal. So a 9" screen size is probably the minimum for Manga to display the correct size. Very rough measurements, sorry ![]() Last edited by leaston; 01-12-2024 at 04:23 AM. |

The 9.7″ eink models are all 150 dpi, so same number of pixels as hypothetical 4.85″ 300 dpi model.

The other issue with displaying Manga is that although the page may reduce to fit the screen, it also means the text often becomes too small to read comfortably and the older I get, the more this is a 'thing' ![]() ![]() |
