Cats also like to go out of their way to vomit on a carpet where it'll be harder to clean up.

My ex didn't have a very strong stomach, I had to ban her from attempting to clean up after pet incidents as it usually created more work for me!
She used to create little folded paper/card tents over the areas requiring attention which helped avoid having to clean between the toes! Last edited by neil_swann80; 01-05-2024 at 03:01 AM. |

![]() This reminds me of an incident with a cockroach I and my sister had once, long ago in our youth. We still lived with our parents then. Well, there was a cockroach strolling around in the kitchen and we killed it by spraying it with insecticide. But now there was an even bigger problem - the dead cockroach lying in the middle of the kitchen floor. Neither of us had enough courage to pick the corpse up and throw it in the trash. So we escaped from the kitchen and waited until Mom came home to do it for us. We were not little kids - I was in my teens and my sister a bit over twenty. What awful wimps we were. ![]() Last edited by Sirtel; 01-05-2024 at 03:38 AM. Reason: fat fingers, as usual |

To be fair, cockroaches are kind of gross.

I've started the mental preparation for Sunday. It's my father's birthday and my sister and I are already warned that my aunt and uncle will be there, too. Yes, the overbearing aunt. So mental preparation for that is necessary. And on Sunday night I will spend my regular cross stitch session stabbing a little bit more aggressive than normal.
Mind you, me being short with her and having blocked her several times has worked. She's been pestering my sister lately. First about where she could send the Christmas card for my parents. Eventually she send it to my sister, she didn't send us one though. And the last couple of days she's been texting my sister multiple times a day what she can get for my father for his birthday. We haven't got an answer for that since my father never knows what he wants (we bought some board games for him). My sister told her that, still she keeps asking. |

Why oh why, video producers? WHY?????!!!!!
Okay I've had it.
I'm not a big watcher of videos in the first place, to be honest. I learn better from text, but...I will watch them to try to learn. Great, fine. There seems to be this horrible trend--at first, I thought it was just inexperience, new publishers not realizing, not being good at video editing, but now I'm convinced it's more than that--where every single presenter, speaker, yadda, has to a) type out what he's going to say, b) mutter-speak it while s/he's typing it ["muffy....and....buffy...went...up the hill....and...then..."] and then c) READ IT TO YOU AGAIN!!!! WHAT THE HOLY FLIPPING HELL? I mean, what? Is this remedial Kindergarten, or First Grade? Why? Why are presenters doing that? Who, watching these videos, needs the now-typed-out text read to them--again? Even once, never mind more than once‽ See how annoyed I am? I used an interrobang! I wondered if it was some sort of click-pay thing. Like, if you spend another 30 seconds on their freaking stupid video, they make another 1/8th of a cent, but I can't seem to sort that out. CLEARLY, none of these people have any experience at all in adult education, because they are going about it the wrong way. I can't speak for anybody else. I know a lot of you guys, my MR buddies, are retired and have some spare/leisure time but dammit, I do not. I really don't have an added 10 minutes, to watch some video that is now 16.25min (!) which should only be 5. It has 10 minutes of content fat and then another six of READING STUFF TO ME THAT I CAN READ MYSELF. Please, video content providers, please, stop the madness. We can read. At least, if nothing else, for the love of GOD, don't read it TWICE! The added once is bad enough. Hitch |

Today the photographer from the real estate agent is coming by. So yesterday we sanitized the apartment. My sister packed things and I took them downstairs to our storage room. I must have been up and down those stairs (two flights) at least 15 times, so I was tired and the last two things my sister took downstairs. And I know she's stressed, I'm too, but she took it out on me. So tonight, once everything is back in it's place again we need to have a talk about that. That's my parents' behaviour, which I tolerated for too long and I'm not going to accept that from her.
Also, I'm not looking forward to this afternoon. After the photographer is gone my sister is going to her work and I'm the one expected to carry everything upstairs again. And getting things up is even harder work than taking things downstairs. |
