Removing the case / face Elipsa 2E
How do we go about removing the case to access the sd card inside?
I dont want to force and break anything, but assuming its done via the back cover. |

Some Kobo models have an SD card for the system, and some have a PCB SMD Flash chip. There doesn't seem to be any pattern to the choice.

For what it's may be worth, the following Kobo models do not have an internal µSD card:
Kobo N905 Touch Kobo N514 Aura Kobo N709 Aura One Kobo N782 Forma Kobo N777 & N778K Sage Kobo N604 Elipsa Kobo N605 Elipsa 2E The N514 is a special case since it can be booted from an external µSD using an Aura H2O image. |

These have no internal card slot, and don't have a digitiser for note-taking pen: Kobo N905 Touch Kobo N514 Aura Kobo N709 Aura One Kobo N782 Forma * Oddly the Libra 2 seems to have a digitiser (but not the original Libra). The Kobo or MSP/NTrig pen works on the sketch pad with two line widths and erase (via the Pen buttons). Sketched notes are saved as svg files and appear in My Book, can be copied off, but can't be edited on the Libra 2 once you save. It does have an internal SD card (glued, but the glue can be dissolved) for the entire filesystem. Now if someone could patch the SketchPad so it could load? Also the Sage and Elipsa (probably 2 also) only seem to have no Sketch Pad. It appears in the More menu if you turn on developer mode. Other weird settings appear in settings. There be dragons. In fact buy a Libra 2 if you want to experiment with having an encrypted file system and your own program for notes. Cheaper than bricking an Elipsa2 and make your own 32G SD card, so you can't easily brick it. It's 7″ 300 dpi.
Maybe the Nia is cheapest with an internal SD card slot. Though only 6″ 212 dpi, but better than the older Kindle Basic models with no front lights. Last edited by Quoth; 12-29-2023 at 05:40 PM. |

I sent this link in a PM but duplicating it here:
The Making of Kobo Elipsa on Youtube: From what this shows, it would appear the Elipsa rear cover uses plastic clips much the same as Kobo's smaller format ereaders. |
