DeDRM that removes all ADE DRM is 10.0.9 and if you want that ability, you run calibre. | |

I agree with John F, before being NoDrm, at Apprentice Alf's hands, there was a bat file to do the same than the plugin. Yes, you can find one enhanced DRM at some place (at this moment, I think there is more or less the same chance of finding one than me winning lottery without playing) and, for that case, your alternative is calibre. But in everyday work, I think that's the best option if you don't want to use calibre.

For what it is worth, I've run into Adobe's enhanced DRM on 2 occasions. One time was when an acquaintance asking for help for their offspring when attempting to remove DRM from three university level textbooks which was declined after a quick look at the issue when I found out the textbooks were not purchased by them. The last time was an ePub downloaded from a site whose name I've forgotten which would open in ADE but not in calibre. Some point after moving to noDRM's fork, I tried the book again and the DRM was removed.

The old stand alone DeDRM apps are also old Python 2 scripts. Could be tricky to get working at this point. Much easier to use the plugin. That's basically why Apprentice Harper stopped maintaining the stand alones. Too much trouble to support. noDRM was working some time ago on stand alones but no telling when that will be working.

Thanks everyone. So I'll keep using Calibre until something comes along.

Looks like the trick to download the prc file on an Android device doesn't work anymore on early 2024. Even with the new DeDRM and the right android key extracted from backup.ad

Buying ebook, then from Content page, Download and Transfer via USB option still seems best. Registered Kindle Serial ID in the plugin. Read on anything. The Kindle need never work or connect after registration.

Are you unable to download the books on the older Android? Or just having an issue decrypting them?

Odd. The setup I've been using for 10 months now still works happily. Even on books published after 2024-Jan-01. Current relevant software would be DeDRM 10.0.0.9, Bluestacks 5.11.1.1004 P64 with K4A updated to 8.51.1.1.0(1.3.272119.0).

Maybe the books you're trying are kfx only. Or something has changed about your particular setup since it is still working for others.
