Thanks, but NYT and Borba is too complicated for my level to make any adjustment. Also in the example of abv recipe documentation, most have "rss" / "feed" involved and what I need is much more simple.

Can help to check the chinese web site I'd advised before and help to make a recipe? Many thanks in adv.

perl recipe for india today

I'm haven't yet started programming in Python... so I have a hackish and somewhat ugly Perl recipe for India Today. Output is not as well formatted as I would like... And it just converts it to HTML and then I postprocess it using mobiperl's html2mobi converter... It also lacks a nice ToC..

Will someone be interested in taking this recipe and porting it to Calibre? You do need to make a few permutations/changes to the URL to get to the print version of the article...

I was also going to start on a recipe for the Hindu.

http://www.hindu.com/rss/01hdline.xml Headlines
http://www.hindu.com/rss/05hdline.xml Opinions

Thank you...

Here goes the recipe:

I never thought that writing a simple recipe could be so important to somebody. I hope you will get better.

Thank you for your well wishes. Here is a post related to this that I made

On Tuesday I found information that may give me back my life. A year and a half ago I became ill and have no hope of full recovery, only of partial relief. If the medication I learned about in Science Daily does help it will be like a miracle to me. I am excited and energized just thinking of the possibility of going for a walk, resuming my photography passion, being able to work more or even just drive to Miami to see my son. The possibilities on the horizon are limitless if the medication works. Thank you so much for your efforts on my behalf.

Thanks,

oddly enough, it works on my PC but not on my MAC.... (with calibre 0.5.9) - which is fine since I connect my sony from the pc anyway

Thanks for your help, the recipe isn't complete yet (I must have done something wrong since it goes to fetch the print version of the table of content instead of the articles), but I'll post it here once its done.

India Today

Can anyone help me with the India Today recipe? I posted a Perl script earlier that can produce the mobi file. I was wondering if it can be triviailly converted into a Python recipe for Calibre?

Houston Chronicle / EDM / iBrowse

A new user of Calibre here, and I don't find this question in the forum previously. I am a home (print) subscriber to the Houston Chronicle, and as such am given free access to an electronic version (with username and password to gain access). This is an "EDM" version; when I click on links a browser called "iBrowse" is launched, which appears to use flash somehow. The newspaper that is loaded is the same as the home version, with all pictures and graphics.

I can pull the Chronicle rss newsfeeds in Calibre to create a text-only version of the paper. My question is if it is possible to pull the above-described graphic version as well? If so, would there be a script you would recommend to use as the basis for me to attempt to modify? Many thanks in advance for your help.

Hi again - sorry to nag again but I still have problems with the german Spiegel Online recipe...

From the update on the Table of Contents with the abstract of the news was loaded correctly - but in the main part there is no text. For example: I do a click on the first news and it switches to this one where I get the menu "next-previous-section menu" but no text...

does anybody have an idea how to fix that?

thanx in advance
