Thanks that part of it worked but now:

Eject the device and either enter ;dsts or swipe down and select the settings icon to enter the device settings menu

The whole thing is in chinese so i have idea what option to choose

Type in ;dsts, press enter, new window with settings will show up, then hit the three dots in the upper right, select first one (this is Update your Kindle).

Although I didn’t see demo mode in Chinese, unless there is something odd with your setup

I type in ;dsts and just get the main kindle window with the boy sitting under the tree. if i chose those 3 dots then the first one and amazon kids is greyed out. i am left with three other options in chinese and a last one that is al
so greyed out

This is weird, but only because I didn’t see the Kids versions being JB’ed yet.

Maybe there is a difference in demo modes between regular and Kids Kindles?

I do not have a kids kindle. go figure
can i get back to where i was before this a flash kindle. problem is my computer beeps when I plug it in but does not ope. very frustrating

can you get me back to where i was before all this?
I reboot the kindle and it wants to me register which i did not want to do but out of desperation i thought I would but even that gets refused because airplane mode is on and bluetooth off. what a mess.

can i reflash with the latest kindle software ?

Sorry,
I am stuck with a kindle that wants me to register but it cannot because it says that this is a managed device airplane mode and bluetooth is locked. see system admin so registration would not work even if i wanted to do that which I do not. I tried flashing with the latest .bin file from kindle. it said it went well but still I end up back at that window where two fingers and a swipe get you to 'welcome to kindle'

Thanks for your time but nothing is working. i have a kindle that will let me adjust the light and read the legal files. that is it. Totally f...ked. my fault.
i even tried deleting all the files on the kindle. copying the latest bin file and flashing and still end up in demo mode hell.
hated the kindle since I got it because of it's refusal to allow epub. black friday tomorrow. maybe get a kobo.

To exit demo, enter ;demo in the search bar then hit enter.

You should see either demo menu - then do Resell.
If JB files were half installed, you will see an invitation “to enter demo”, but it will actually move your Kindle to regular mode.

I have made it after the point of updating with the hotfix, but no changes in the interface, no diference from what it was. I have a unregistred Kindle Paperwhite 7th Generation, FW Version 5.16.2.1.1.

The mkk folder is on the root directory of the devise. Am I missing something?

Jailbreaks don't change the interface.

Did you install KUAL?

Does it show up in your library?

What happens when you open KUAL?

last night following your advice when I chose resell it told me my battery was too full for it to work so i just left it overnight and then I had the option to press power. on reboot I chose english and got back to where i was before i started to jailbreak.
Wish jailbreaking had gone according to plans but once i had chosen chinese then i was screwed. Not only that but during the steps which involved plugging in my ereader 75% of the time my computer would not recognize it. never had that problem before.
maybe I will give it another shot soon

Sorry, I forgot to ask you before: when you were selecting Chinese, did you see the last entry saying "P s e u d o t"?

If no, then you probably didn't copy files on time on time in Step 15.
