No, your wrong. Sirtel was right. Windows 10 was/is better, IMHO.

I'd argue that whether a version of Windows is better than another version is very much the sort of thing where it's a matter of opinion.

Like, I'm probably going to get so much blowback for saying that Windows Vista was fine if you had enough hardware to run it.

(and the part about having enough hardware to run it was the big issue, a big part of the reason its reputation was horrible was that the minimum system requirements were too low for it to actually run acceptably and a lot of computers at launch only met the minimum system requirements)

Of course. It depends on whether the features you need are available or not. Plus the overall performance.

That and the hardware manufacturers were slow to get around to updating their drivers.

For me, the worst thing about Vista was the cavalier replacement of Column handlers with Property handlers, with no tools for transition. A couple of large corporates I know of developed and swapped in-house tools… in preparation for eventual XP->Win7 deployment.

For me, the worst thing about Vista was the features that were promised and disappeared along the way. WinFS was probably the best known of these. Admittedly, all the Longhorn beta testers I knew were disabling WinFS as soon as possible since it was a great way to get your computer to turn into a slug.

One acquaintance who was working for a input device manufacturer (mainly mice) was driven into management by attempting to produce drivers that would not be broken by the next beta release.

{Expletive Deleted} who walk down the street, head stuck in their mobile phone, not looking where they are going. The wife has had several of the afore mentioned idiots walk right into her, stationary, mobility scooter.

The distracted walker is a sadly common sight in this area. I—probably—should not have laughed when one young gentleman walked into a fire hydrant and was rolling on the ground clutching his genital area but couldn't help it.

If we are talking about windows, my favourite version was Windows 3.1. I absolutely detest the Windows 95 interface. I don't know whose bright idea it was to put the Application selection icons on the desktop, where they are immediately covered by the Application's window, but (IMHO) it was not his finest hour.

Here you go ==>> Windows 3.x Program Manager for Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 - WinCert.net Forums

Disclosure: I don't use it, I loathed Program Manager, and the only launch shortcut on my desktop is the Recycle bin… because I've never found a non-kludgey way of parking it on the taskbar.

I've never understand the desire to have icons on the desktop.
The only excuse for such "in your face" is at public computers at a library.

At one point I wrote my own "lean and mean" Program Manager.

I also have only the recycle bin on the desktop (Windows 10). The rest are either pinned to the start menu or the taskbar. Never understood why the desktop should be a good place to put anything (as already said, program windows cover it).
