Oh, I don't know why but I hadn't seen your posts previous to mine :-S
I had installed the hotfix by copying it to Kindle's root and tapping the "Update your Kindle", I don't know if that actually makes a difference or going through mrpinstaller does the same.
Anyways, happy to see that NiluJe's latest builds worked!

I tried both, once by copying the hotfix in the mrpackages directory, and once putting it in root and "Updating my kindle". I am not sure because even in MR Packages it got processed successfully, but I thought there was, actually, a difference...
Anyway, for our problem, as I said, I tried both and none worked.

Furthermore, I already installed Niluje's hotfix before, and it was also installed as part of the procedure for the LanguageBreak (Marek said in this thread that his LanguageBreak hotfix is Niluje's with an added script to make the kindle get out of demo mode), so I was not really expecting this to work.

Luckily, as said, newest version works!

Download from here:

- K5 JailBreak Hotfix
- MR Package Installer
- KUAL (coplate)

They're not the same version you downloaded yesterday, get rid of the old ones and download these instead.

Once you have them on your pc, decompress the JB hotfix zip and put the resulting .bin file in the root directory of your kindle.
Eject and then UYK (... -> Settings -> ... -> Update Kindle)

Let it run, and when it finishes, connect your kindle to pc again and decompress MR Package Installer archive directly into the root folder of your kindle. It will asks to overwrite some files, choose Yes to all.

Then decompress the KUAL archive and put Update_KUALBooklet_5b5d1d2_install.bin in /mrpackages folder.

Safely eject Kindle, and in the search bar type ;log mrpi and press the right arrow ( ->).
MRPI will start running and then will restart UI.
You WILL see the error "failed to remount fs in RO", but when MRPI finishes its job, KUAL will be installed.

I re-downloaded jb hotfix, KUAL and mrinstaller, the ones built this night.
I applied jb hotfix via UYK (success)
I copied the new MRInstaller in the extension directory.
I put KUAL booklet (not the KUAL hotfix, only the "main" package) and run mrpi installer (success, at last!)
When the UI restarted, I had KUAL installed and correctly running.
My God, how I missed being jailbroken!!

PS: By the way, all runs of MRPI showed the "failed to mount rootfs in RO", both the failing ones and the succesful ones. As said by the experts, this does not prevent packages from being installed.

So I have successfully installed the jailbreak and kual. I just installed koreader and tried launching it, however, it only results in the screen refreshing and koreader doesn't launch. How do I fix this?

Have same need to exit KUAL and KOReader in order to access usb. This is a KOReader limitation on the Kindle hw.

There is a KOReader plugin to autoconnect to Calibre over USBNet. Also Calibre wifi server should be an alternate way to transfer documents if you are using Calibre. i haven't personally configured either.

You can make an script to fetch books and launch it from KOReader. I use rsync having rsync as daemon in my computer.

I have the Kindle connected to my network but Internet access is not allowed to it as someone advised up in this thread.

i read somewhere that i can share books via calibre by using cable if i switch out of koreader. is it true? how do i exit koreader

Okay, new problem. So I managed to open koreader, but the documents I sent through calibre are not showing up. Even the ones I dragged and dropped don't show up. I've tried both the nightly build and the normal one. Any fixes?
