after jb sucsess and try to install MR Package Installer and KUAL
I always get this error:
Package script failed (127), moving
on
my device kindle p4 10 generation with 5.15.1
any help pls

Install Niluje's hot fix first, and then try method in #293.

NO. NiLuJe's hotfix is Update_jailbreak_hotfix_1.16.N_install.bin.

i install the hot fix first then i copied the two files from kual folder
but i did not install the same error

can you discribe exactly what you do after jb
may be i mess something around

I just did what I said: installed the hot fix first, copied the two files from kual folder, and then ran ;log mrpi.

You'd better make sure the version of MR Installer is r19293 and Kual is coplate version.

i try it but it did not work for
i can not know what i should do to install both mr and kual to install koreader at last

Okay, for at least part of those failures, there was *definitely* a bug in FBInk that I just fixed, and for part of the others, there's a very weird awk issue on the target FW versions that's breaking a lot of weird shit at random (and that I can't reproduce), so I've pushed updated snapshots with a few attempts at mitigating those...

Aaalright, so... First, what I was asking was "what do you see when MRPI runs and installs KUAL", but it's fine.

Anyway. I saw this night Niluje's posts, but I was curious, so I just had a run with "old" jb software. That is, the same you used yesterday.

Two attempts:

Attempt no.1:

So, I could not reproduce your success. There must have been something else we're missing.

HOWEVER, Niluje came to save the day, as usual.
I re-downloaded jb hotfix, KUAL and mrinstaller, the ones built this night.
I applied jb hotfix via UYK (success)
I copied the new MRInstaller in the extension directory.
I put KUAL booklet (not the KUAL hotfix, only the "main" package) and run mrpi installer (success, at last!)
When the UI restarted, I had KUAL installed and correctly running.
My God, how I missed being jailbroken!!

PS: By the way, all runs of MRPI showed the "failed to mount rootfs in RO", both the failing ones and the succesful ones. As said by the experts, this does not prevent packages from being installed.

Hey ahamedata, have a try once again, but delete the packages you have downloaded yesterday and download the new ones that Niluje has compiled this night. I used to have the same issues you're having, but this morning with the new software it works.

Download from here:

- K5 JailBreak Hotfix
- MR Package Installer
- KUAL (coplate)

They're not the same version you downloaded yesterday, get rid of the old ones and download these instead.

Once you have them on your pc, decompress the JB hotfix zip and put the resulting .bin file in the root directory of your kindle.
Eject and then UYK (... -> Settings -> ... -> Update Kindle)

Let it run, and when it finishes, connect your kindle to pc again and decompress MR Package Installer archive directly into the root folder of your kindle. It will asks to overwrite some files, choose Yes to all.

Then decompress the KUAL archive and put Update_KUALBooklet_5b5d1d2_install.bin in /mrpackages folder.

Safely eject Kindle, and in the search bar type ;log mrpi and press the right arrow ( ->).
MRPI will start running and then will restart UI.
You WILL see the error "failed to remount fs in RO", but when MRPI finishes its job, KUAL will be installed.

Copy both Update_KUALBooklet_d0eb25b_install.bin and
Update_KUALBooklet_hotfix_d0eb25b_install.bin to folder "mrpackages", and run ;log mrpi. Then KUAL should be successfully installed.

The version of MR installer should be r19293, and Kual should be coplate.

I am not gonna lie, I wasn't expecting it to work at all. For the record, I had the
Update_jailbreak_hotfix_1.16.N_install.bin installed before since I am following this guide.

It's a "Kindle PaperWhite 3 (2015) WiFi" according to the wiki (S/N: G090G1). And no, I had not copied anything from another device, I had flashed the update_kindle_all_new_paperwhite_5.16.2.1.1.bin and started the tutorial over again.

I see that there is a new mrinstaller r19298, do you want me to try that one instead of @Yellow22 / @Jose fix?

With Niluje's new files, kual can be correctly installed.
