I have several Lumley books. Picked up his two volumes of Cthulhu tales, and some other stuff. But so far, I've only read his short story Fruiting Bodies. I did enjoy it.

I thoroughly enjoy his writing, AND this series. I have every one of them in ebook, and the first 10 or so in American Hardcover First Edition w/Dustjacket. [M/M].

The size of the series is intimidating. For my first Lumley book, I'm planning on reading Demogorgan since it is a stand-alone Lumley book. I was also scoping out his three Primal Lands collections which look to be sword and sorcery tales.

Yeah - us horror fans have it made with a few settings - of course woods, ocean, space, and naturally abandoned (or non abandoned is worse??) asylums

With Lumley, I actually did read the first two books in Necroscope series in paperback form, still have those old things around somewhere I think. Was an unusual experience. Sometimes I was absolutely hooked and couldn't put it down, sometimes it was out there. I did hear the series gets even stranger and didn't sound like something I'd enjoy. To try it again someday I'd need to re-read those two books first since I've forgotten too much otherwise.

There are some scenes in thsoe books that have stayed with me all these years, though. He did write good characters.
